Just as expected, great working drone
I bought this for amateur photography and to use it for Surf fishing. I highly recommend you watch all the Videos from DJI, also other YouTube videos showing unboxing, assembly, operation, calibration, and flying. take your time and it will be a great experience. The video and photos are very good (as expected with this model drone). Payload, it can easily take over 2 ponds, so using this drone to take the bait out past the breakers will be a breeze.Dean

Warranty is useless
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my teenage son last year and he really enjoyed it for about 9 months. Then, after about 20 flights, he turned it on and got a message on the app that one of the battery cells was bad and to contact DJI support. I went online and filed a claim to repair the battery. They sent me a mailer and had me send it back. About a week later, I got an invoice for $162.00 to "repair" the battery. A brand new battery costs $140, so I don't know where they got $160 from. I called DJI and they said that the battery was only warranted for 6 months. I explained that the battery had been well cared for and that it only had about 20 cycles on it. - 5 out of 5 stars review11/22/2016Phantom 3 Standard by DJII just love this Drone, it is the best drone for the price bar none! It does everything that DJI said it would do. Follow me, Way points, Point of interest and so on. I would say just make sure you read all the supplied instructions and watch DJI videos along with YouTube videos before talking to the sky. If anyone does that along with making sure they understand the controller, it will be very hard to go wrong. I have flown mine several times with no problems. If you want to step up from Syma X5 & X8 style drones to brushless motors, first person video, 12meg 2.7k camera with full GPS, this is your Baby. The only thing better in my book would be one of DJI other pro level drones, but if money is the issue, you will be totally happy ...Flash

If you're into photography/videography and you want something to start off, I strongly recommend the Phantom 3 Standard. Now, let's get right to the point. PROS 1. Excellent price. - 5 out of 5 stars review12/2/2015Great Drone.While DJI is known for their horrible customer service, they do make one heck of a drone. The Dji P3 Standard performs great. Easy to setup and fly As long as you follow all pre-flight checks and get well informed on the operation of this quad. I have about 10 flights in, without any issues. Make sure after every Firmware update, that you calibrate your IMU, calibrate your gimbal, calibrate controller and re-due compass calibration for your location. Those of you that don't want to spend the money on the advanced or pro version will be pleased with the P3 Standard. You can't beat the value for the price.Road1

The flight range is also incredible. you have to use the screen to fly it because it is fast and can get further than the eye can see very quickly if you are not careful.
