Good water pitcher filter for an afforable price
I can tell a major different with this water filter by boiling the water after it being filtered & put in the tea bags. There is no residue on the surface of the water unlike before when I used the water without being filtered there is so much residues on the surface of the water when I put my tea bags in. Like the filter very much. I give it a 4 star because the design needs improvement. You will have to wait for the all the water to be filtered all down before you pour out the water to consume otherwise if the water is still on the top part of the filter, when you pour the water out to drink- the unfiltered water on top will come out at the same time with your already filtered water on the bottom.

A lousy design
The handle is not ergonomic and is difficult to hold (when pitcher is full) for those of us with imperfect hands or weak fingers. Also, the lid cannot be removed, except from the edges as the design on top is angled and only works if you have fingertips like a frog. The lid also falls off if you tilt more than 20 degrees, so it needs more of a lip to set into. (Now, I need to find another use for it - besides the inside of a trash can!) Good thing I did not discard my BRITA pitcher, as the Culligan filters sit in it perfectly - that lid does not fall off in normal use and it can be removed by the knob on top! Now, that pitcher may not fit into my fridge door, but I don't want all my water cold - I have smaller bottles for that!

Water pitcher

I love the size because it is smaller than most filtration pitchers. For that reason it is lighter and easier to lift and pour. It also will fit easily in the refrigerator door. The water is the best. No taste or smell so the filter works good. I am very happy with it.

Very good product

This item works as promised. I was surprised how well it actually works. I just wish it held more water. Fills fairly fast and filters the wate as promised - much better than much more expensive products.

Great product, good price

Looked at all the other pitchers and this looked to be the best value... and I was right. The replacement filters cost less and filter more and the pitcher itself is well built, filters fast and is easy to use. Buy it, you'll like it.

Like Night & Day

This little gem turns awful tasting tap water into crisp clear water with no smell or aftertaste, and for half the price of the equivalent Britta product. I use the filtered water for drinking, filling ice trays, coffee maker, and small cooking tasks; what a difference in the flavor! Generic 40 gallon replacement filters are only five bucks a pop (in two packs) at Wal-Mart. No more expensive (plastic) bottled water for me. I highly recommend this Culligan product.

Does what it promises

I tried the Brita pitcher first. The top was so flimsy that it would fall off every time I picked it up, and it finally broke. Even though Brita thoughtfully sent me a new lid, I returned it to WalMart and ordered the Culligan pitcher. It filters our well water and gives a nice, clean taste. Although delivery was delayed a week, I am quite pleased with the pitcher, especially as it is half the price of the Brita, does the same job, and delivers water with a pleasing taste. Hey, Culligan man!

I was disappointed it took so long to fill the pitcher to use
I wanted to try filtered water and see why it is so popular. I chose this item primarily for the price. The water is fantastic, I will never go back to unfiltered water. The only draw back on this product for me was the lid. You do need to hold the top center of lid to pour, but nothing that you will not get used too.

Great filtering, not so great lid

I love this filtering pitcher but the lid is not secure at all. The lids slips off way too easily.

Big flaw in the design !

The product quality is not as good as I expected. The water tastes not very much different from tap water. What I noticed is that any unfiltered water or residual (from the upper container of the pitcher) can also come out when pouring for a drink which inadvertently can contaminate the filtered water (from the lower container of the pitcher). This will defeat the purpose of the filter. For proper use of the product, this caveat should be clearly stated on the instruction that there should not be any residual from the upper container when pouring for a drink. Other issue is a flaw in the design - the lid and the filter are too easily fallen out of the pitcher when pouring for a drink. The filter should be screwed in, and the lid should also be latched to keep both of them in place.
