THis is one of the most useful tools I have. It will make a smoothie, disolve powder into a liquid such as pudding and Jell-O. I use it when I make home made mayonnaise to incorporate the eggs sugar and vinegar. I use it when making gravy to get all the lumps out. And I use it making batter like pancake batter or fry batter. IT is a wonderful and handy tool.
I do not like the Safety lock button on the top of the handle. At some place it is necessary, as I know since I almost had the tip of my left index finger cut off, but was because I had not unplugged the cord. This handle button makes it impossible to mix and raise blender at the same time. Thank goodness I had save my older model handle and it fit perfect into the new blades.
We bought this new model to replCe our older one as the stock blDe began to malfunction— it was with us a long tim-/ so that is the reason it was so easy to select the same trusted brand. Our surprise and complaintis a “new” design feature of two speeds and a pesky third button on top you must hind down for the blade to run. You can let go once the blade is spinning, but it is very uncomfortable— definitely a two handed job. Also— the second speed appears useless for us s the normal one speed was great for all our uses. They messed with a good thing. We are wishing for our old one speed and NO rip button to hold down.
Walmart describes a csb 79 model which includes cup, and whisk and chopper attachments. The model you actually get is csb 75 with cup and no attachments. There is no remedy for fixing the issue as I've since read numerous reviews with the same issue. Your only recourse is to refund and buy the right model elsewhere. Also, the 75 model is difficult to use. You have to hold the lock button down on top of mixer then switch on and hold the button the entire time using. It was a tricky and outdated technology, surprisingly. Used it for Christmas on two cakes and I quit and went the old fashioned way of mixing by hand. Taking it back as soon as I go home after the holidays.
I bought this hand blender upon the recommendation of a major consumer magazine. The description in the magazine led me to believe that it would meet all of my needs at a reasonable cost. I read the reviews complaining about the lock button, but felt that it would not be an issue. Nothing prepared me for the difficulty in holding down the power button. It requires all of the strength in both of my hands simultaneously, and even then, I am unable to keep it on more than 10 or 20 seconds. By the time I am done, my hands are in pain. This blender is VERY poorly designed. I love all of my other Cuisinart appliances, and I have several, so that made this doubly disappointing.
