Love it!
by -
I have had this now for a month and a half-- I have been using the Cuisinart Grind N Brew for years now and love it but tired of all the little parts to clean. I wanted a quick cup of coffee with little fuss in the mornings. I did a lot of research on the Keurigs. The 2 reasons I picked this one were: the multiple cup sizes and the large water reservoir. I use a 12oz travel mug on the days I work and wanted to be able to fill it. This coffee maker did take some getting used to. The problem being that the k-cups do not recommend what cup size to use for best results. With much trial and error, I finally have figured it out-- However I cannot make a 12 oz cup of coffee with 1 k-cup. The coffee comes out too weak-- I have purchased the "Java Jig" and the "Solofil Cup" which I can fill with enough grinds to make a 12 0z. great cup of coffee! Even though I have had to do some experimenting, now that I have mastered the amt of coffee for the different size cups, I love my Keurig!!

I Love this machine!!
by -
My husband and I are empty nesters with different tastes in coffee. He would drink from the same pot of coffee all day long...Me? Not so much.I HATE old coffee.I like some flavored, he doesn't. With this, both problems solved. I love the versatility of this machine. Hot water for making tea w/ a tea bag.(didn't care for the k-cup teas) Love that you can use the rinse button for a quick clean out after a flavored coffee. I never take the tank off to fill it, just pour water in from a pitcher (less chance of the dreaded air bubbles blocking the pumping process) Have had very little trouble with it not pumping. When I did,( a year after purchase) I called the 800 # and they walked me through the solution. Have only descaled it twice (since March of 2011)once after the call to customer service. (the "descale" light has only come on once since then).I use a pipe cleaner to clean the needles~(they work great for the re-useable straws too)! It is a pricey machine, but I love it!! Would definitely buy again.

It's being returned ..... again
by -
Let me start off by saying that I purchased this unit to go in the basement, so it doesn't tend to get used every day, maybe every couple of days. This is the 2nd unit I have purchased and it really is a complete nightmare and I am going to try to take it back to [@] and purchase something else. As I said, it is very tempramental and right now just makes a noise, sounds like it is really trying, but to no avail (there is a straining noise). We rinse it out after each use, but it still is a hit or miss as to whether it is actually going to give you any coffee. The temperature is ok, even on the hottest setting, it could still be hotter, but that is just me. I like my coffee a little weak, so I use the 10oz setting with a large mug.It is a really nice looking machine, its just that it never works, hence the reason it is going back.I am trying to decide if I want to try the Vue, but the fact that it doesn't take K-cups and I really don't know if I can trust this brand again

Not happy with this Cuisinart Brewing Sy
by -
It has now been 1 year, and i was only able to use my Cuisinart Brewing System for 4 months out of the year. It is 10 days before the 1 year warranty expires, so we took it back and exchanged it for a new one. It clogs up and no water comes out at all. We ran 2 gallons of vinegar through it and it finally pours water out, but only lasted 2 weeks, and had to clean it out again with Vinegar. Customer support told me that we must clean with vinegar, unplug the machine and plug in again after 1 hour, dont use tap water but use bottled water, and if brewing hot cocoa you must run hot water thru it after hot cocoa to clean it. None of this works. So this time, if we have problems again when we use bottled water, we will definately get our [$] back and just go buy a new brand. I called into customer service 4 times the past 5 months. We live in Long Beach, CA and the city water from our faucet is not that bad either. If you own this, be prepared for high maintenance and frequent cleaning just to keep it working.

Everybody's favorite until .............
by -
I bought this coffee maker mid-December and my entire family has been enthralled with it since. We actually drink more coffee since we each can brew a cup to our own desired size, strength and flavor. We loved it. My son said it was the best purchase I have ever made in his 18 years! Until today. I walked in the door from work and the coffe maker was dead as a doorknob. Only 3 months old. What's with that? I called Cuisinart and they said they would send a new one to me but I have to pay the shipping and handling to receive the new one and they want the old one back (at my expense). What's with that? I agreed though since I've already sunk $200 into the machine and Lord knows how much in K-Cups that are sitting in the pantry. When I asked if this problem had been reported, I was assured it had never come up. You decide. I will have to wait to see if coffee maker #2 works before I would say if would recommend this machine. Signed...........Very Disappointed. :(

My advice... buy a Keurig not Cuisinart!
by -
I was very impressed with my Cuisinart machine when I first starting using it. After four months of use we started having problems with the machine. I was not able to brew the full amount or no water would come out at all. I did all the trouble shooting (lift the water tank to eliminate air bubbles, clean where the water comes out, etc.) and the machine would work OK for a few cups and then the same problem all over again and again. I called Cuisinart along with a few email's and they were willing to give me a new machine[...] they said I should get the insurance. Why get insurance for a machine that is all ready broken. I would not buy any products from Cuisinart again due to their poor customer service. I could see if the machine was over a year old, but four months! I already own many other Cuisinart products, but once they die I will go with another brand. My first coffee machine was Keurig and I had it for four years and it still works and I never had any problems with it. My advice is to stick with Keurig!

In love with a coffee maker
by -
I recently purchased this machine after visiting a friend who had the keurig machine. I went to my local BB&B to buy the same machine she had & they were out, so my impatience forced me to upgrade to this machine. I'm SOO glad I did. I have read many reviews of the keurig machine having 'brain farts'...this machine pumps out 10+ cups of coffee every morning without fail. We are serious coffee drinkers who LOVE a strong cup. I love the variety of brew sizes available. Typically we brew on the 4 oz. setting with even the extra bold coffees just because we like it strong. My mom and grandmother have both purchased this machine after falling in love with mine. I was worried that I might increase my monthly coffee spending with all the kcups being used, but I now no longer have to stop at starbucks. I used to run out of the house without making coffee because I hated having to 'make' it, but the process is so painless its done and I'm out the door in 20 seconds.

HAPPY NEW MEMBER OF THE KEURIG FAMILY!
by -
WELL, AFTER SOME DEBATE, I FINALLY HOPPED ON THE KEURIG BANWAGON AND MY ONLY REGRET WOULD BE THAT I HADN'T DONE IT SOONER! I'M REALLY THE ONLY ONE AT HOME THAT DRINKS COFFEE REGULARLY, SO WASHING THE POT & FIXING IT FOR JUST ME SEEMED SOMETIMES LIKE A CHORE...WELL COMPARED TO THE KEURIG IT IS A CHORE TO USE A REGULAR COFFEE MAKER! THERE IS NO POT TO WASH, NO GRINDS TO DUMP & BASKET TO RINSE, NO COFFEE & WATER TO MEASURE! YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO THINK TO USE THIS THING! AND WHAT ABSOLUTELY SOLD ME ON THIS CUISINART KEURIG, BESIDES THE FACT THAT ALL MY SMALL APPLIANCES ARE CUISINART & I LOVE THEM, WAS THAT I COULD USE THE INCLUDED FILTER TO USE MY OWN COFFEE IF I CHOOSE! WHICH IS NICE BECAUSE I DO LOVE STARBUCKS... SO THERE ARE NO LIMITATIONS WITH THIS! JUST FRESH, HOT, DELICIOUS COFFEE WITH NO HASSLES! NOW, I HAVE ONLY HAD MY BREWER FOR A WEEK, BUT I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH CUISINART & I AM FEELING CONFIDENT. DON'T THINK TWICE, JUST GO FOR IT! OH, AND I LOVE THE RETRO-ISH LOOK TO THIS BREWER AS WELL, BONUS! ENJOY!

Helpful Hint
by -
Since I found out the "secret", I haven't had any problems with my Cuisinart Brewer. For those of you that have issues with the "air" in the line causing either a short cup of coffee or none at all - when you remove the reservoir tank to refill with fresh water, simple remove/pull out the filter cartridge holder at the same time. You don't have to change or remove the filter unless it's time to do so but while you have it out you may as well rinse it. After you have replaced the reservoir tank, place/click the filter cartridge back in place. You'll see the air bubbles removed and voila', no short cups of coffee or no coffee at all. It was so frustrating in the beginning and I was ready to return the unit until I learned this simple trick by accident. [...]. This is the only reason for not giving it five stars. My travel mug doesn't fit under the unit without tilting the mug either, but it wouldn't be a reason for me not to purchase the unit.

Requires a little TLC
by -
I have had many of the same issues listed by other users. I have had the pump "seem to stop working", Hit brew only to receive no coffee or a dribble in the cup or even a half cup only when I was trying to get 12Oz. I have had this maker for 5 months now and have never had to return or replace it. I have turned it off and many times it resolved the previous issues I have listed above. I have very hard city water with a lot of calcium. I was not always using my Brita faucet filter to fill the reservoir and believed that, even with the charcoal filter Cuisinart provides, that maybe I had clogged up the plumbing. Ran a vinegar/water mix through the reservoir and then clean/filtered water to cleanse. It has worked as new since. Coincidence? Not sure, really. So is this more temperamental compared to other makers? Not sure as this is the only Keurig maker I have owned. I love this thing but it does need a little TLC and occasionally just turn it off. Not as hardy or as cheap as an old Mr. Coffee but I went through a lot of those things.
