Fun & Versatile
by -
So far I have made Ice Cream Sandwiches, ice cream truffles, black berry sorbet, cranberry slushies. I thought I would only be using this occasionally but so far I have been using it every couple days. The set up is very simple. Its super easy to clean. Minimal moving parts. It's comes with its own recipe booklet too.

Makes great ice cream! The only negative I've found is the ice cream freezes against the bowl & I'm afraid to use anything but a rubber spatula due to causing damage to the freezer bowl's inside. My rubber spatula isn't strong enough to remove the frozen ice cream so I have 1/4 inch of wasted ice cream.

After using my daughter's, I HAD to have one! It makes homemade ice cream a quick reality! I live a low carb, high fat life. THIS provides a new dimension of yumminess!

Great Ice Cream
by -
 Verified purchaser
This unit is as advertised. It is simple, no ice , no salt & no mess. The recipes are simple and make wounderful tasting ice cream in approx. 1/2 hour. I put the ice cream in a container in the freezer to make it firmer, but it is fine if you like a soft serve type ice cream right out of the machine.

The Necessary Small Appliance for Every Kitchen!
by -
I love our first ice cream maker, the Hamilton Beach model 68881Z: it was on sale, and the finished ice cream product is delicious. However, I REALLY LOVE our Cuisinart ICE 30BC Pure Indulgence Ice Cream Maker! Why? A. The ICE 30 freezer bowl is larger; it has a capacity of 2 quarts instead of the HB’s 1.5. This means that the ICE bowl holds 2 cups more product than that of the HB. The ICE 30 freezer bowl also seems to freeze colder, and stay cold longer, too. B. The ICE 30 motor is much bigger and more powerful than that of the HB. C. The ICE 30 is 10X quieter. Even if you leave the kitchen, the HB is still very much louder. D. The ICE 30 makes its ice cream 50% faster - at 20 minutes, vs. the HB’s 40+ minutes. (Be sure that your freezer is set at 0 degrees.) E. When cleaning both model bowls, wash them in cold soapy water; thoroughly dry with a towel, wrap in a plastic bag to prevent freezer burn; and freeze overnight. Ice cream freezer bowls should be kept at the ready in the freezer. (Avoid hot water for cleaning, which may damage the bowl and cause a coolant leak inside of the bowl. Also, avoid scraping the insides of bowls, which might damage them. Remove the bowl from the maker and let it sit for 1-2 hours, in order to loosen the remainder of the ice cream debris. This is a nice final ice cream ‘treat’ before washing the bowl!) F. The ICE 30 produces 2 cups more product, but if we need any more at the same time, we can then also plan to use the HB in conjunction with it, to make a total of 3.5 quarts of ice cream. This combined product plan is great for when company comes over for dinner. G. The ICE 30 has a super-wide plastic Ingredient Spout mouth for pouring in the refrigerated custard. The result? No spills. On the other hand, the HB spout is small, and it is common to spill the custard on it while trying to pour it into the machine. H. The ICE 30 cord has a storage base under its motor, while the HB doesn’t have this and the cord is shorter. I. Both the ICE 30 and the HB were on sale when I bought them, but Independence Day sales were especially good for the ICE 30, and it also included free shipping. In sum, making ice cream is fun and easy, and the Cuisinart ICE 30BC Pure Indulgence Ice Cream Maker will become one of your favorite standard staple kitchen small appliances. The HB, though, is a nice backup machine if more product is needed.

This machine was rated as the best bang for my buck, so I bought it. The rating was correct. It fits and looks great on the counter. It's easy to use and makes great dessert in the time it takes to eat dinner. It's not heavy and is easily cleaned.

Does the job
by -
 Verified purchaser
Very good machine for the money. No frills, just works well and does the job. Used a kitchen aid bowl before, then it cracked sitting in the freezer. Very spendy. Paid more for a kitchen aid bowl than this whole machine. Bought a 2nd bowl as well on sale for $35. So, machine and 2nd bowl for $104 after tax. Very happy. The drive system is much better too than the kitchen aid. Bowl is turned while the mixing blade is held still by the top cover. Easier to add chocolate chips, etc later too.
