After considerable research for the absolute best coffee maker in the world, I decided to purchase the Cuisinart Grind and Brew DGB-700BC. It has a burr grinder. This one has the 12-cup glass carafe and it has a warming plate. Reviews on the stainless steel carafe have stated there is no warming plate. It seems the glass one does and the thermal one does not. It works perfectly and is very easy to program and use. It comes with a DVD which simplifies the process even more. It can also brew ground coffee. Just turn off the grinder before pressing the on/off button and it's ready to go. As for noise, I don't consider it too noisy. After all, it IS a coffee grinder and I expect to hear it when it grinds the coffee. The hopper holds a half-pound of beans which is enough to make coffee several times (if you're using the mild setting).

We've had the refurbished grind-n-brew for about a week now. Lives up to its claims. Grounds are course. I've found that setting the grind control to 6 cups, rather than 12 cups, when making a 12 cup batch, saves coffee. I set the strength to "Strong" and use a dark coffee blend (espresso or french roast). I could not tell any taste difference between the 6-cup grind setting and the 12-cup grind setting... and I'm saving expensive coffee... and I drink a lot of coffee! The coffee is delicious! I think the charcoal water filter makes it taste, I don't know... smoother? Very well constructed. "Finished" beeps are too faint to hear (maybe that was why it was returned??). Programmer works fine... that grinder munching away at 5:45 am is quite the alarm clock, even 3 rooms away. Just went down to the Outlet mall kitchen shop where they had a new one on sale for $179.00. Charcoal water filters were 2 for $8.99. I like refurbished. I know that a factory tech has gone through the whole unit and checked it out. Looks new to me. Tastes great!

This is my second Cuisinart Grind & Brew. My first one was a blade grinder and I had it for more than 3 years(We are heavy users, about 2-3 pots of coffee a day). When I heard of the burr grinder model I was almost excited when my old pot to died. When I found this on Walmart I was cautious due to it being refurbished, but when it arrived it looks brand new, but who knows if all the mechanical parts are replaced. To be on the safe side I also purchased the 3 year extended service program. With my prior experience with Cuisinart products I would definitely recommend this product to others. The shipping was very quick and the entire ordering process was a breeze.

I purchased this after talking with a friend who had also purchased a Cuisinart Refurbished Grind & Brew. They've had their model for a good number of years, so naturally, I had high expectations for our purchase. Right from the start, our coffee maker had issues. The gears inside the basket sounded like they weren't lining up correctly. This caused an error beep to sound. It would take numerous attempts to get the appliance to brew coffee. I tried for a day or two to get it working, but finally gave up. I returned this model to the store, and ordered a brand new one on Amazon instead. Our new model is working perfectly. Two other things,...our new model comes with the gold-tone filter basket and the cleaning brush for the bean chute. The refurbished model didn't have either of these items.

Had the same model for 4 years and used it every day until it burned up (electrical). I bought the identical refurbished model a few weeks ago and everything is great again...

The coffeemaker grounds coffee in very coarse grinds, so we ended up using much more whole beans to get the same strength as another cuisinart model that we replaced. So now we have to use pre-grounded coffee on this machine, but it defeated the purpose of having a built-in grinder. I wished I can return it.

I was a bit apprehensive buying a refurbished coffee maker, however I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised! The price is great ( only $59 compared to macys $129.99) and this coffee maker makes the best drip home made coffee I ever made. I'm very happy with the fast delivery too! Love it Walmart you ppl rock!

I have had a refurbished Cuisinart Grind & Brew coffeemaker before this one, and just loved the flavor of my morning coffee. I really was not expecting it to last as long as it did (7 years) since it was a reburbished item. The only problem I have with these types of machines is what a headache to clean. But if you really want a great tasting cup of coffee this is your coffeemaker. I also really ike the looks of this machine, very high end look on my kitchen counter! This was a great price. I saw a 10 cup refurb Cuisinart Grind & Brew thermal caraf maker for $99 in BL just yesterday, so I thought I got a great deal.

I look forward to my morning cup of jo. Exceeds my expectations, but I hesitate to rate it on duribility because I've owned other Cuisanart grind and brew makers that didn't hold up to long. This is the first burr grinder coffee maker and I am impressed.

I've been a Cuisinart products user for many years. The coffemakers I've purchased had been on sale and because of the excellent warranty that Cuisinart offers. Pricey purchases but excellent quality items. I've had occasion to use the warranty. A friend of mine purchased a remanufactured coffeepot at another store and I was impressed with the fact that it worked just like new. Only thing missing was a good warranty. I had puchased an office item from Walmart.com and was pleased with the price and delivery. On a hunch I checked to see if the site had Cuisinart coffeepots. Great surprise... yes and less expensive . What sold me was the option to purchase a 2 year warranty. I will continue to chech the site before I make future purchases.....

  • A. Yes, all you need to do is fill the basket with already ground coffee, and push the "Grind Off" button, and the maker will "brew" (drip) a pot of coffee as a regular coffemaker would.

  • A. You would probally have to buy a seperate grinder, because the brewing process starts right after grinding and may or may not confuse the coffee maker. I just think it would be easier that way and you can but grinders pretty cheap. Only thing is, this coffee maker has a burr grinder which does a better job and burr grinders are somewhat expensive to buy seperate.
