My new counter mate.
This crock-pot is fabulous. It has earned it's place on my counter on a full time basis and not stuck away in the cabinet. The fact that you can brown your meat right in the cooking bowl prior to starting to slow cook is one of the best features as there is less mess to clean up when you are in a rush in the morning setting your meal up. The 'roast' setting is also a less messy alternative than using the oven and there's still room to roast a few veggies along with the meat. Another great feature of this device is the steaming feature. It gives you a quick way of making healthy side dishes whenever you are cooking conventionally. The cooking bowl is non-stick and lifts out for easy cleaning. I haven't baked in it yet but look forward to trying that feature. This product was given to me to sample [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I HATE this crock-Pot
It takes 2 days to cook 'dry' soaked beans. it takes 12 hours for meat to become tender or done. I will have great difficulty recommending your products in the future.

I'm enthralled...

Verified purchase

I've always owned a traditional Crock Pot with ceramic inserts. I'm so enthralled with this multi cooker I purchased last month.

So far I've used the steam feature, the browning feature and the slow cook feature. All of my dishes have exceeded my expectations.

The ease of use to go from browning to slow cook all in one pot is what makes this multi cooker even more desirable.

I'm looking forward to using this multi cooker for years to come.

great features

I purchased this for my wife about a month ago. This real easy to use and very convenient. You can do everything you need to do in this without taking it out of the base. The other one I had it did a lot of this except you had to put it on top of the stove and then place back in the unit. All I know is the wife is very happy with this and glad I purchased this for her

quality construction woth the extra $$$$

Verified purchase

I purchased this a few weeks ago and have made all the main dishes in the included cook book - they all came out great and the entire family enjoyed them. The only disappointing item is the time it takes to preheat. I can understand the initial preheat time, but the times it takes to preheat from the hi brown/sauté setting to bake or roast is slower than I like. This make the time from start to completion a lot longer than you would think when you read the recipe, but once you understand the total time required - you can make your adjustments' to the total prep and cook time. Very please with the product - will most likely buy a second one or at least the cooking pot so we can use it for more meals!

Multi-function cooker

Verified purchase

I was looking on line for a replacement for a 4 quart Nesco roaster when I found this multi-cooker. It was a great price, probably because of the recent popularity of instant cookers. The cooking insert cleans easily i browned pork chops yesterday before changing the cooking mode to slow cooker for pork cacciatore. This was just what I wanted. Very pleased.

My New Favorite Appliance!

Verified purchase

One month ago, I decided to upgrade my old stand- by crock pot (with heavy crockery). It served me well, but was getting on in years. I had no intention of purchasing a relatively expensive one - but when I saw the capabilities of the Multi 5 in 1, I splurged, and I am so happy I did. I use it at least 3 times a week - it has a well deserved place of honor on my counter. I have made stews, and chili, and pulled pork, and I have roasted beef and pork to perfection. Yesterday, I cooked a fresh 7 pound turkey breast. First I browned it and then I put it on slow cook for 6 hours. It was perfect, and the kitchen does not get hot! I gently wiped the inside, put the carcass and some veggies back in the crock pot, with 4 quarts of water and again, put it on slow cook overnight. I woke up to the richest broth (low and slow!)! Clean up is a breeze - and I'm very fussy keeping it looking new! I took 2 quarts of the stock, and decided to make cream of turkey soup. No problem! I made the roux in the crock pot (saute setting) and whisked in the broth and cream, until it thickened - which was not a long time. I wish I had this over the summer - great way to cook and the kitchen stays cool! Can't wait for really cold weather and winter meals. I should work for Crock Pot - I rave about this to everyone!

I am very happy with all the settings except one. The low setting seem

To cook only at a Luke warm maybe a little warmer temperature. I question if it is safe to cook for many hours at this low of a temp. I love the sauté and roast feature. I did a 5 lb turkey breast that was done in under an hour at 325.i make my own bone broth and the low setting didn't do it for me ended up using roasting setting at 335. It is supposed to simmer for 24 hrs so I kept resetting the roast feature. One of my other crockpots the low setting cooks to hot. It is a nice feature the roast setting . The house dos not the get heated up in the warm weather.

Expected much more

Verified purchase

I am still trying to figure out the best recipes and the best produce that can be cooked in the slow cooker. However, my few attempts resulted in 30% satisfaction.

1. Sliced potatoes are raw after 7 hours of slow cooking

2. It is not suited for root vegetables. Unlike all the ads, root vegetables remain hard and raw after hours of cooking

3. Timer for Steam function does not work

4. Brown/saute works well

5. Slow cooking function - not good for everything. You need to give it multiple tries.

Non-Stick Lining Peels Off

I got this as a gift for Christmas. I was so excited especially with all the great settings. However, as soon as I noticed that the pot insert non stick lining was peeling I was totally disappointed. The nonstick lining started to create little bubbles, looking like small bits of food stuck to the pot. As soon as you wash it by hand the lining peels right off. I threw the pot away, it is not good to have non stick lining pieces in your food. Unfortunate I had to throw it away after having the pot for less than a year.
