Assembled in a relatively short period of time. All parts were present, with a few extra screws provided. Most of the panels are heavy particle board with walnut veneers which have been selected for very pretty graining and very nice medium cherry finish, matches my other mission red oak furniture well. The key vertical structural pieces appear to be what I think are Asian rubberwood (also called parawood, or Indonesian mahogany - very strong, dense, and heavy), exterior finished with the cherry/walnut veneer. My 50" Samsung smart hd tv fits perfectly atop it, and the size of the top, allows the tv to be angled fairly widely for a variety of viewing postions. The tempered glass doors, and the right side walnut door (that looks like two more drawers below the actual drawer, which has high quality slides) have high quality, spring loaded adjustable hinges which are hidden behind the front panels when closed, and can be set so that the whole front appearance is symmetric and the spaces between panels and doors are narrow and even. From the fairly heavy weight and solidity of the stand, I would expect it to last for years, and survive moving, if necessary, though I would not recommend trying to disassembled it, which would weaken the metal dowel and cam joints into the pressboard substructure. If this stand was all solid hardwood, it would be 3 times the price, and no difference in appearance. I shopped this particular unit over six different web sites, got the best price from Walmart, was actually sold and shipped by Hayneedle, who packaged it with superior protection, and shipped it exactly on time, and it arrived in perfect shape, no damage to the shipping package, nor the parts themselves. Very satisfied with the product, and the purchasing processes. I, at first, was going to rate this a "4", but after I have read what I've written, and because of what I consider a great price, and the great condition in which it arrived, I "fived" it.
