For the last 4 years I have recommended this product (or the similar one without wheels) for use on missions trips to Haiti. We have taken close to 100 of them. They are extremely strudy and hold a lot of stuff. The airlines have no objections to them and they stack well. In addition, the missionaries love them as perfect for storage and security.

We bought this for a college trunk. It is sturdy enough to step on and holds a lot. We have the similar camping trunks, they are great but this one is more sturdy. Only downside is it doesn't have side handles, so that makes it harder to roll it. You have to bend over a lot more. I didn't rate it lower because, it makes sense for no side handles in a truck bed, I'm just not using it for it's original intent.

Liked so much I bought another. This is the second one.

I just bought this for my youngest son to take to college. My oldest son has had his since 2006 and used it for years of boy scout camping. He's been using it for college the past 2 years. The wheels and handle are still strong, the latches still work, and it seems far more durable than the $130.00 trunk I bought for my daughter (which I returned because the top didn't close evenly). It doesn't have a built-in lock, but there is a place for a padlock. It's extremely light and holds a lot of stuff. I gave it an average rating on appearance because I've only been able to find it in black and girls like colors.

This is a great foot locker. Very sturdy. This can be easily secured with a combination lock. Although Walmart does some have other storage lockers available in their stores, this model is better quality, bigger and seems more durable. The bonus is this locker can also serve as a table or added work-space for the student if needed. Well worth the price and will make packing and dorm moving that much easier during the next four years. The product arrived at the store ahead of schedule. Communication was excellent. No problems at all! I found the Walmart staff at the pickup station to be helpful. They opened the box for me to inspect the merchandise and put it in my cart without prompting. A very positive experience on all levels.

The first shipment of these arrived with broken latches on one side and they were shipped as is with no box. The second shipment both latches arrived intact. This is contico's latest version of the sized to fly trunk. The last version had a handle in the center of latches, but this one does not. It would help if has a bout more of a handle on the non - wheeled side, but I suppose I could install one. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I ordered 2 of these and had them sent to my son stationed overseas. One of them arrived utterly destroyed. Not a huge deal if he were here in the states, however he can't just go to the local post office to have it shipped back to Walmart. I know the item is decent quality as GI's are using the heck out of them all over the world. Let's see what Walmart will do for this one...

I ordered seven of these to use for international travel. Five of the seven had broken wheels when I took them out of the box. The wheel housing is brittle and useless! I returned all of them. Contico needs to re-engineer this product and Walmart needs to discontinue offering it online. Buyer beware!

These storage containers are fine if you just need a storage container, but they are no longer suitable if you intend to fly with them. As an overseas oil worker, I have been using Contico storage lockers for the past 15 years as luggage. These used to be the container of choice for those of us traveling internationally into remote locations because of their lightweight design with moderate durability at a reasonable cost. However the most recent design changes have resulted in an inferior product that is no longer suitable for my travels. The new style latches are flimsy and not nearly as strong as the previous versions used. I traveled to West Africa with three of these storage lockers on August 25, 2016 . Besides relying totally on the latches and padlock to secure the lid, I had also installed 2 nylon web luggage belts per storage locker to add additional support. When the boxes arrived at my final destination, the belts and padlocks were intact but 3 of the 6 latches were either broken or missing. Another problem is the elimination of the strap handle that was previously located below the padlock hasp. This was an ideal location to secure the airlines baggage tags. Since this handle has now been eliminated, one has to rely on the baggage tags adhering to the storage locker. Unfortunately the three boxes I purchased must have had some traces of mold release agents on them because even packing tape would not adhere to them without first washing them with soap and water. If the tags adhesive fails to adhere to the bag during the travel, you will have a lost bag. I sure wish Contico would offer the original design, even if it did result in a nominal cost increase to the consumer.

The plastic wheels literally broke getting this out of the box! I ordered two for moving stuff around on concrete/carpet, but immediately returned them. After the first one broke, I dropped the wheel side only of the second one from about 14 inches and the wheels shattered again. What ever happened to durability? (Laughable that it's a rating choice) Bunch of junk!
