These are big! Over time the crystals turn to gel and then they eventually harden. The outer fabric never feels wet or even damp. I use them in large totes that will be closed for months (for example, summer or winter clothes) and I have one in my car. The one in my suv works better than expected at keeping musty smells at bay during humid summer months. It makes a noticeable difference in the smell of the car.

I purchased these moisture grabbers after having tried them for a couple of months in my home. In those areas before this purchase a used another moisture controller. I just got tired of the refilling of the containers and getting rid of the collected moisture in those containers. This purchase worked very well in those same troubled areas, and without the hassle of filling and disposal… disposal of a caustic liquid.

Unfortunately, had a mildew problem in one of the spare closet. After cleaning all affected items and carpet; I used the absorbent packs along with a humidity meter, %26 after the 2 weeks since the cleaning, no signs of regrowth. So far the trouble seems to be solved.
