11 Year Old Daughter LOVES IT..........
I use this curling iron on my 11 year old daughter hair. I must say that we are african american and my daughter has very thick course hair and it comes half way down her back. I wash her hair, then i flat iron it straight. She wanted larger curls in her hair, but you can make different size curls with the curling wand. Thats what makes this a good curling wand. The wand was very easy to use and the curls last all day long. It did take me a few tries to get use of using the wand. Her hair did get stuck three times but the wand did stop right away. I quickly untangle her hair. It did not pull any of her hair out, that was great to me. It took about 15 minutes to do this style for her. It does have 2 heat setting and 3 timer setting, and shut off after being on for 60 minutes without on use. I find that to be good because im a busy mom and forget bout stuff sometimes. Daughter loves this curling wand. Its worth the money and i would say buy it ....... Pro: :curls hair all day long :curls hair in different size curls Con: :hair my get stuck :curling wand is heavy :cost

This product did not work well for me. Did not always put out a uniform curl. Some pieces did not curl at all, I would have to do it 2-3 times. Many times it would tangle and pull out some hair. I took this item back and invested in a really good and larger barrel curling iron at a third of the cost of this one. I would not recommend this product. If it were a lot cheaper, then maybe.

WOW!!!

To preface I want to say that I have NEVER been able to figure out curling irons or wands. I've tried curlers, I've tried all the "no heat" methods I see online, and it just never works out well. So I was really excited to try a product that promised to give me perfect curls with zero skills or effort. And I am happy to report that this product does the trick!! The Pro Curl is an odd looking device, especially if you're not entirely sure how it works, but once you read the instructions (and maybe watch a YouTube tutorial) you get the hang of it really quickly. It will give you perfect curls every time. It has 2 heat settings (I use the hottest setting) and 3 curl settings: 8 for lose curls, 10 for regular curls, and 12 for tight curls. What changes in these settings is the amount of time your hair spends in the barrel. The device heats up SUPER quickly, which I love, because I am not very patient. The instructions tell you to use 1/2-1 Inch sections per curl, and in fact, if you use bigger sections the device will beep and not hold your hair in the channel. Which is good, because it prevents tangles (which was one of my main concerns when first using it). I can report my hair did not tangle once, and after a few curls I was able to figure out how much hair was supposed to go in the barrel. Once your hair is in, the machine will beep, and once it is ready to release, it will beep faster. Again, the tighter the curl you want, the longer it will be in the chamber. The only time consuming part of the process is actually separating your hair into sections, so that your curled and uncurled hairs don't mix up. I am SUPER excited about this product and I know I will be using it a lot. I highly recommend it.

I can finally have curly hair and it's easy!

I got this for Christmas after a few friend's raved about it and I see why they did! My normally straight hair has never really liked to curl and I've gave up on curling irons years ago. This tool works so well and it's so easy! I love the tangle sensor and the curls actually hold. It's nice to finally be able to get “fancy” hair for going out without having to pay someone to do it for me.

I love this product!!

I LOVE this curling iron! I have thin, limp, fine, straight hair. I've bought many curling irons and curlers through the years. This product is AMAZING! After watching a video and practicing I can curl my whole head in about 15 minutes! Make sure you don't take too much hair in each section, and it helps to twist the section. You lay the section of hair in the groove and close it. If it's not put in correctly or you have too much hair in a section it will beep at you and stop. I've only caught my hair a couple of times at the beginning. If done correctly it will beep about 6 times and then will beep rapidly on the 7th count when done. Let your hair cool a few minutes before you brush it through. I get SO many compliments on my hair! The machine can be a bit heavy and awkward af first, but after some practice it becomes really easy. My hair is fuller and thicker looking. The curls last a couple of days. It was expensive but worth every penny!

1. All lengths.
by kindajazzy
2. I have seen videos on You Tube of women using this curler that had chin length hair, and it worked very well for them, and the results looked really nice, so I don't see medium length hair being a problem for the curler :)
by fallenjade
3. I have medium length and had no problems with it. My Daughter has Long hair to waist and I had to use smaller bits of hair because the length, but it worked!
by AtascaderoMom
4. Chin length or longer hair length is recommended
by CurlSecret
5. I wouldn't think hair shorter than collar length would do very well.
by Okiepacker
6. Short thin hair
by Shelbybsww
7. Medium length hair should work fine. This product is designed to work with all lengths and types. Just note that depending on your curl setting, your curls (length) will change as well. The tighter the curl, the shorter the curl. I would first try three different strands of hair, one on each setting, and see if there is one that compliments your hair better than another.
by Idontlieaboutreviews
8. As long as you can get the barrel under the small section of hair you are trying to curl, it should work. Even with layers. You curl really small sections at a time but it doesn't take long. Tight curls shrink the length of hair so probably does best on shoulder length and longer. Maybe check out some videos on youtube first.
by scgirlgwd
9. It should work perfectly with medium length hair, above or below shoulder length works best.
by apage
10. My hair is medium/long length and it works just fine. You just have to make sure to read the directions, and only put the amt of hair it says to put in it.

1. You don't place it against the head unless you want the curl to start at the scalp. You only put 1/2-1" width if hair so it doesn't get caught. I only caught mine one time the first time I used it and it was because I put too much in. It didn't pull my hair out. You try different heat temps. Start with the lowest and see if the curl holds and keep increasing it if you need too. You can always take it back if you don't like it.
by Okiepacker
2. It you have long hair, that might happen, I have shoulder length hair and it happen a few times. But I was able to get it out, it's a very small chamber.
by Shelbybsww
3. The product gets up to 400 degrees F, so remember, it is important to use a heat protectant to keep from damaging your hair. However, the heat and curl preference is up to you. The 8, 10, and 12 are seconds that your hair is kept in the iron. Meaning, you get a varied curl with each amount of time in. Also per setting. Just depends on how hard it is to curl your hair, maybe. You can place the unit anywhere along the strand of the hair to start the curl at that point. Make sure your hair is clean, smooth, and free of tangles. Then separate into small sections and follow the directions for the iron. As far as getting your hair stuck, I have. Because I did something incorrectly. The mechanism inside the iron detects there's a tangle and stops winding up your hair. It then reverses and goes into a neutral position so you can get your hair unstuck. If your wondering whether or not to buy it, I think it is a great investment if you curl your hair. I mean, I get mine done, it looks great. Half the time, and I still feel like I have arms left. And, it is ESPECIALLY nice if you're a person who fixes hair for other people for parties, dances, weddings, etc. All you do is separate and clamp, it does the rest of the work for you. If you're still hesitant, invite one of your close friends or relatives over as a "test dummy". :D

4. To prevent any tangling, it is important to ensure the opening of the curl chamber faces towards your head. In addition, ensure that hair is dry, cleaned and combed through. The Curl Secret has an anti-tangle feature that will also help prevent any tangling. The smart motor will sense resistance and stop rotation to allow the hair to be released so you can start again.
by CurlSecret
5. If your hair gets stucks, wand stops right away, so you can untangle your hair. I find that if you use small amounts of hair , it works better
by friendleeshopper1
6. The side you place against your head is clearly marked. To do otherwise is when tangles may occur. The finer the hair, the lower the heat and time needed to curl. There are instructions included that are very easy to understand.
by Parrottlover
7. It happened to me. I realized I didn't read the directions carefully and was doing it wrong. Also, too thick of strand can jam it up. I have thick curly hair and learned smalker thinner strands work best. After my first attempt misshaps, I haven't had an issue with it jamming. Oh and I haven't singed my hair yet.
by JTalicska
8. Hi Meezer! I had the same worries! However, the device has a way of detecting when you are trying to curl too much hair at a time, and if it's tangled before you clamp down and just won't accept the hair into the chamber until you use less hair or smooth it down. The instructions state to use 1/2 to 1 inch sections at a time, and i found 1 inch sections worked fine for me (I Have fine, slightly wavy hair, if your hair is thicker, I'd start with a smaller section and go from there) As far as the heat setting goes, I used the high setting right away and had no problems. The device times how long to leave your hair in the chamber (it depends on what type of curl you want, and the device has 3 settings). I highly recommend this product!
by giselleo
9. I was concerned about that too. So far it hasn't happen. And I hope it won't happen. It's so easy to use and curls nice.
by Shiasia
10. The instructions recommend that you start with straight hair, so I am not sure if the curler has issues if hair is wavy. I have a little longer than shoulder length hair and did not have any issues with tangles. We tried on a friend with waist length hair and she did have 2 individual strands get caught once, but when we unplugged it, it came right out. On the heat settings, I didn't have any issues with singing, but I would recommend at starting with the lower settings and working your way up. There are 2 heat settings and 3 time settings.

1. I have very baby fine hair, it has only held a curl for a few minutes then is straight again. This product WORKS! I used it in the early afternoon and a day later I still have curls. I did not use high heat since my hair is so fine, I used the lowest heat setting, dry hair no hair products of any kind before nor afterwards! I find it a great product!
by Vaneta
2. My hair usually doesn't hold a curl without a lot of hairspray. This product curls my very straight thin hair very well. By the end of the day, I still have a gentle wave without using hair spray.
by Woteck
3. Works GREAT on fine, straight hair that doesn't usually hold a curl. I am in absolute LOVE with this product! I will forever be a cheerleader for this curling iron. I would recommend not using every day on hair unless you are using a heat protector.
by An anonymous customer
4. Make sure you use a gel,or mousse,or heatstyling spray, and dry it in. Before you curl.! My hair is fine and straight also. Using product,I still had "wiggle" after I slept on it! Hope this helps.
by Parrottlover
5. It will not work for your hair. It doesn't work for any other hair type and I know it won't do anything for yours. Don't waste money buying this product.
by spogie
6. I have that type of hair, and this is the only thing that made my curls hold.
by shparts
7. I have long, straight, fine hair and it really worked! I was truly amazed and happy to find a curler that worked. My hair stayed curly for hours.
