Good quality, I have been looking all over for some cutting boards to take with me when I travel. I like to do a little cooking in when I travel and stay at hotels with a kitchenette or at VRBO properties. A cutting board is essential.
First, to the person who gave this one star and said they were too flimsy. Yes, they are flimsy, but they are cutting mats, not a pan or board that you should be using to take stuff out of the oven. I needed a cutting surface, and I cannot currently afford a really good cutting board, and all the cheaper ones I've been buying have easily split after a few uses. I saw these and decided to give them a try. I must I really do enjoy using them. As long as the mat is dry and your surface is dry there is minimal slippage, and the mats are large enough that I have a good size area to work on. Then you can just pick it up and give it a good wash in the sink, doesn't really matter what size your sink is because the mats can flex. Also easy to store, I slide mine into a cubby under my microwave. I've been using these mats for 3 years now, and haven't needed to throw any out yet. When I finally have cut them up so much I can't use them, I will definitely buy more!
I'm pleasantly surprised how well these are holding up for being so inexpensive. Really like the color coding. The flexible cutting mats I'd had in the past were opaque. Most of my life I always used a wood cutting board. After you use the flexible mats that make it so easy to add the chopped ingredients pans or bowls (without making a mess) it's hard to go back.
Great for any projects where you need to protect the surfaces of tables, desks, counters while using a small utility knife. I do a lot of picture framing and use these mats under the photo's when I trim them to fit the frames. I also use them when putting boards down so I can drill holes in other objects for projects around the house. If you have a slick surface just wipe it down with a damp rag and these cutting mats will stick to the slippery surface.
This is my first purchase for a flexible cutting mat and I am very disappointed. I guess you get what you pay for. Mats slide all over my laminate countertops which almost made it a disaster. The whole apple I was trying to cut slid all over the mat and the mat slid all over the countertop causing the knife to slip off the apple. The mat revealed deep knife marks because the mat is not thick enough. Needless to say, these mats are going in the donation box.
