First off I’ve read through the reviews and I’m slightly confused with some people’s issues. I camp more than most and I use my equipment. This tent was 100% purchases for the dark room effect because I hate waking up at 5:30 am because of heat and sun. I have used this tent now for 1 year and it’s probably been put up close to 30 times now. Every camping trip has been in Wyoming and if you know the winds there you’ll understand what abuse it puts on tents. 20-65 mph winds is very common. I have never had any failure due to winds, in fact I’d say this tent performed exceptional in high winds. I’ve also been in extreme rain and thunderstorms and not a drop has penetrated through the tent. I have had slight zipper issues just recently which seems about par for any tent on the market. I have camped from -20 to 100 degrees F and this tent has prevailed. If you don’t like early morning heat and sun waking you up this tent is absolutely amazing and for the price it’s extremely durable.

Weekend Camping w/Thunder Storm
I was intrigued by the Dark Room Technology from Coleman, and purchased this tent for a recent camping trip. Experienced two separate thunderstorms during the trip, and everything in the interior stayed dry. The two side-walls are almost completely mesh, which kept condensation from building up on the interior. The Dark Room Technology works, but do not go in expecting pitch black. I personally really liked the Dark Room.
I think the color scheme is great, and helps out in low-light conditions. The rain fly paracords are also reflective which is an underrated aspect for tents. I was able to set it up by myself, but with help it would be much easier.
New out of the box, there were a few tiny nicks to the bottom coating which initially concerned me, however no water came through. There was also a noticeable nick to the rain fly, which lit up like a tiny star during the day, but no water through that either so it must've just been a scratch to the dark side coating. Either way, a quality inspection process to catch these would appreciated.
Dark room tent blocks 90% of sunlight
The dark room tent blocks 90% of sunlight. I am a mom of three and this tent is wonderful for my family of 5! The tent is made for 6 people and fits two queen size air mattress in it. I live in Florida and with the tent blocking 90% off sunlight it keeps the tent a lot cooler and heat out during the warm days here. It’s also great for my 1 year old! He takes multiple naps during the day and the tent keeps the sunlight out.easy for nap time! The tent stands 6ft tall at it highest point and is 10ft wide. The tent has rainflys that keep rain off and nice for shade. On the rainflys there is snag free pole sleeve. There is a E-port on the bottom of tent for easy electrical access. The tent has welded floors and inverted seams to keep rain and snow out. I like that the tent has pockets on the inside. I like to keep extra flashlights and phones in. Easy to find in the middle of nightand makes for nice storage. The tent has reflective guy lines, makes easy to see at night and we are less likely to trip over them! What I like most about the text other than 90% sunlight blocking is the nice black carry bag the tent fits in and can be stored in. The tents easy to take out put up in less than 15 min and after camping store back in bag for next use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Wanna Go Camping!
This tent is absolutely amazing. As a family of 5 we have been trying to find a tent that not only fits all of us in it comfortably but is also not to difficult to put up or handle. This tent does just that! It literally took myself and my 9 yr old 5 minutes to put it up. It was raining outside so we put it up inside the house (barely fit) and had an indoor camping night haha. I am 5’10” and still had a ft above my head to stand up comfortably. It states you can fit 6 ppl but I’d say depending on how small they are? You could easily fit 8-10kids in this tent. Taking it down was just as easy as putting it up and again only took 5 minutes to do. We are so excited about this tent and can’t wait to go camping outdoors with it. Not My Tent But Good
I bought this tent for a friend to replace his tent which requires the Army Corps of engineers to put up. I was looking for a comfortable size tent for two or three with minimal number of poles and conventional construction (no hinges and minimal plastic parts). A couple of the other reviewers here seem to have bought the Costco Fast-Pitch version of this tent by their description and have confused it for this tent. I had my friend pitch the tent for me to make sure it this was not a Fast-Pitch edition which has a different pole system and more plastic parts. I cannot speak to its ability to hold out water but it certainly keeps out the light. We are fair weather campers anyhow. The poles and construction are generally more durable than my own tents and I believe this tent will serve him well. I am going to drop a star because the clips that hold the sides to the shape of the poles appear rather frail as they are quite narrowly molded. While they are no doubt strong enough for the purpose of holding up the sides of the tent, I wonder how long they hold up to the strain of being snapped on and off the poles.
