    Good Quality

I erected this canopy alone, and it would have gone much faster with another person (I had to move around from leg to leg to expand the frame). I chose to treat fabric with water repellent spray to prevent major leaks during rain storms. This canopy is actually designed as a sun shade, so I'm not sure if this will work in extremely wet conditions. I do like the fact that the apex has two roof vents to allow some airflow. As others have cautioned, please do use the tie downs and leg stakes to prevent accidental sailing (the leg feet are made of aluminum, versus plastic in other brands). I recommend taking down the canopy completely in high winds to prevent damage. The actual test run of this canopy will be our Class of 1974 Spring Picnic on April 30th. Will update any further info after event date.

    Quick Assembly....but......

This canopy serves it's purpose and is as promised was a quick set up, however, when I placed it back into the case (that has wheels for rolling), the pivots that hold the wheel assembly fell off, thus, not allowing me to roll as designed! This was such a bummer because it served it's purpose but the cover surely did not! I felt the $114 purchase was not worth receive a product that is not assembled properly.

    Works for me

I put this up by myself which is what happens most times. Easy to layout and even get the cover on. Three height positions is nice. I have leg weights for it which will only help when I use it. Taking down was fine for one person as well and the only negative I have is the Cover folding up by yourself. Usually I have a few people to help me at the end of the night to fold it up so that will not be an issue. Good snag!

I had two canopies get destroyed by wind or rain. When I prepared to buy a new one, I noticed someone had reviewed this model and complained she returned it because it was too heavy and opted for a lightweight Ozark Trail model. Too heavy! That sounded like a recommendation to me since I was searching for rugged. This model did not disappoint me. It is very heavily constructed. The frame is steel not aluminum as the others. The joint holes are drilled and gusseted and not punched and unreinforced as the others. The joints appear to be stainless machine screws secured by aircraft stop nuts and not pop rivets and washers. Yes it is heavy. Yes it is stiff and requires two people to open. Besides being the most rugged canopy I could find, I really like the fact the top can remain in place when the frame is folded up and stored. That means it comes out of the case and assembles very quickly. I cannot recommend this model strongly enough. Coleman, long known for its superior quality and designs, hit a grand slam with this model.

    Heavy duty weather protection

This summer I tried out the REI Alcove, the Kelty Shademaker, the Coleman 15x13 screen shelter, the Magellan screen house, and the Giga Tent Dual Identity shelter. None of them were great for rain protection over a picnic table. I returned them all and I was frantic because I needed a reliable shelter for wet, windy beach camping. FINALLY I found the perfect shelter! I purchased 2 wind walls and they saved the day. It rained every day and the shelter worked beautifully. I put it up by myself in the driveway, but when I got to the campsite I was having a difficult time. A neighbor ran over and we set it up in 3 minutes. If you have to set it up by yourself, take a really strong tent stake and stake one of the legs, then pull out the different corners. Before using mine I reinforced the inside fabric straps that attach the cover to the frame with Tenacious tape by Gear Aid. I also seam sealed the seams at the top. The neighbor who helped me had a different brand of an "easy up" canopy. She remarked that mine looked very durable. I am a happy camper now!
