Plan to spend hours assembling

Just purchased this grill yesterday. Assembled it by myself. Steps don’t have any written direction, just diagrams, so you basically have to guess on steps. I would suggest having it assembled in store upon purchase. Other than that, it’s a nice grill that cooks the food nicely!

Versatile grill replaces two grills

I was tired of having two grills. I had a gas grill for the convenience of easy, quick grilling. Then I used a charcoal grill for when I really wanted to make a great tasting rack of ribs, barbecue pork, or grilled chicken. There's just nothing that can beat the flavor of grilling over charcoal! The major problem is the amount of room that two grills take up in the garage. The Gas2Coal grill was well packaged and all parts arrived in pristine condition. Assembly of the Gas2Coal Grill was straight forward, and took about an hour to complete. The grill does not feel inexpensive, it has sturdy, thick gauge steel parts. Instructions were easy to understand and contained clear photos of the process. The only tool that I required for assembly was a Phillips screwdriver. I have included a time-lapse video of the assembly process. On first use, I was pleasantly surprised with how easy the grill starts with the electric igniter. On previous grills I have owned, the ignition systems never seemed to work very well. The electronic, battery powered ignition system on this grill is far superior to anything I have used previously. Every grill i have used usually has had "hot-spots" that can make it difficult when cooking. I found that the Gas2Coal grill had even heating throughout the grill surface. The grill produced more than enough heat, and seemed to maintain the desired temperature, even when I frequently opened the top to check on the progress of the food I was cooking. Cooking over charcoal was awesomely easy. I filled the tray up with charcoal spaced appropriately, and fired up the gas. After about 20 minutes on high, the charcoal was ready to go. Cleanup was really easy too. Just remove the tray the next day and dump the old charcoal and hose of the remains. Definitely easier than a charcoal only grill with all of the lighter fluid, etc. Overall, I'm very happy with this grill and would strongly recommend it to anyone who likes to grill with both gas and charcoal. Hybrid Grill

I really like this grill. Couldn't figure out if you needed to remove the heat deflector before using charcoal. Tried both and it worked either way. The info I could find said the manufacturer did not recommend using gas with charcoal after lighting? Not sure about this.

The versatility to use either Gas or Charcoal

The grill is unique and I love the versatility to be able to use gas for certain foods and specialty charcoal (eg: Applewood, mesquite, pecan) when grilling different types of meats. I have used both for almost a year now and so glad that Charbroil thought about producing this product. For many years I have toyed with the idea of getting two different grills and to have one that does both is definitley a plus. Hats off to the ones who came up with the idea. Another advantage is that when using charcoal I conserve the use of gas as it does not require that much to light the coals and I do not have to use the instant light coal or lighter fluid.

Gas2Coal Grill

It is very easy to use with gas or charcoal. I really like the way the charcoal is lit with the gas burners. It gets the charcoal to the full temperature very quickly. Everything I have cooked on the grill came out perfectly without flame-ups. This the type of grill I always wanted and it exceeds my expectations.
