The sizing issue lies with me. I bought a Compact Camcorder case for a Compact camera.
But it works out just terrific! So inside I have the camera, a Canon A1100IS, a short 18" USB cable to download to my computer. The pocket for the camera in this case is made for a mini camcorder so it's HUGE for my little camera.
Not a problem, I put the camera inside a small bubble wrap envelope that I made, and I do this before it goes in the Camera Case. This takes up the extra room in the Camera Pocket inside the case, and since I've been known to drop Camera Cases on occasion, it's helpful extra protection.
The rest of the case is filled with a shoulder strap that came with the case, but I don't use it, 2 spare batteries (ALWAYS HAVE AT LEAST 1), a tripod camera adapter plate, my 3' USB Cable, and a lanyard that came with the camera. It sounds like a lot but they are all small items.
By the way, to make a Bubble Wrap Envelope is easy. Wrap the entire Camera inside the bubble wrap very loosely and leave extra bubble wrap at the bottom. Fold the bottom over and tape it with box tape, not scotch tape. Now you have a custom made pouch for your camera or whatever else you decide to protect!
