    Great all around printer!!!

This is one of the best printers I have ever purchased, and very inexpensive too. It has been tested out and is very quite, has good quality print, and is very easy to use. I love the design and the all-in-one procedures of printing, copying, scanning and faxing. I didn't expect much from a machine this inexpensive, so to its credit, the Pixma MP490 has some thoughtfully designed features. A small, front swing-out door protects the three media slots. When you raise the flatbed scanner unit, a vertical support bar automatically props it up, and an animation appears on the color LCD showing you how to replace the ink cartridges nestled inside. Lifting a small top lid exposes the 1.8-inch color LCD and the control panel, which sports a compass-style navigation wheel and clearly labeled buttons. superlow price ($100 at this writing) and a simple-to-use design that should appeal to home and student users. Overall a great quality printer. Printed items come out crisp and sharp. The WiFi capabilites make this an extremely great deal.

Works great, easy set up! Perfect for me!

I bought this specifically to setup & print off my iPhone. It works great! There's an app you can download on your phone when you're ready to scan stuff too. But everything else can be printed off your phone. Setup was super easy too, just follow instructions & you won't have any problems. Works great!

    Printer for Homeschool

Our new Canon Printer was easy to set up. Our Teen had it up and running and we love the the fact it can be connected to multiple devices. Gave it a first use to print Shabbat Lessons for our Tribe and it worked fine. Black ink seems a bit dull however we're satified with our purchase.

    Canon does it again

I'm a Canon lifer, this one replaced my Canon MX320 that I bought in 2010 after 8 years of heavy use it finally died. This one is so much better, lighter and it takes up less space. The wifi feature is something I can't do without and I've only had it for a few days. Lastly, the price is unbeatable and setup wasn't complex at all.

    Great price; great product!

This printer does everything I need it to do: print things. And plenty of things that I don't need it to do: copy, fax, scan, make toast (It kind of sucks that that last one. The bread barely gets warm when the light goes past it and the cover squishes it...) The wifi printing and phone app are incredibly easy to set up and use. The only issue I have with this product, and the reason this is a four star review rather than five, although it ensures me this is not the case, is that I'm pretty sure this printer is a Decepticon. This may not be a problem with every one of this model printer, but mine is definitely not right.

    Not worth it

Getting this printer to work wirelessly takes a while and when it does print correctly it is very slow. I would be fine with these issues if the printer still worked. After printing a couple documents I threw away the box. Now that I can't return it, my documents are not printing correctly. See the photo. Not worth the risk.

Great value: order online for pickup in store!

This printer ISC perfect for a personal printer, low volume printing. I don’t print much, digital as much as possible, but do occasionally need to print a document. Easy setup. First I installedwith my iPhone. Once printer connected, all mobile devices were able to print from our WiFi (AirPrint) no need to install canon app on every device. I went to Canon Printer Downloads to install on our laptop (old dinosaur Win 8) with no issues. Walks you right through the process with dialogue boxes on laptop. Printingworks well, what yo be expected from a $35 Printer. **Please note: order online form sameday pickup in store to get $35 pricing. If you walk into Walmart to purchase off shelf, price is $59.** Have not used copy function as yet. Tried to scan a document but you need a USB cord not included with purchase. Not into wires so I opted to use my phone to take a picture instead. Willpock up a cord if I feel like I nee it, but really a good deal for $35.

    Antiquated Copier

This copier is so antiquated and you have so many steps to go through just to make a copy. It ridiculous! It also prints very slow. Customer Support walked me through the set up process with codes that are not in the manual and no matter how tech say you are, you need to call support. The menu is ridiculous too because there's so much going forward through the menu and then having to back up the same amount of steps to get t OK the next menu choice. This is the worst all in one copier that I've ever used! I had to go on the Internet and download the rest of the drivers that didn't come ion the disk. I took it back and bought a HP pro all in k NE which is awesome and I'm so glad that I bought the HP! Love it! I hope this helps anyone who's looking to buy an all in one printer. The HP is faster to print by over double the speed and it has touch screen menu for easy menu access. Also holds so much more paper too! Easy set up and dump proof. Disk had all the software and drivers necessary too.

    Great printer

This printer is awesome. Admittedly when I first went to set it up I didn't know the bottom tray slides forward, this is where you put the paper in. Also there is a lever to the right that if you don't move it to the right, the paper will never load right and cause jams. Move that lever to the right all the way and your paper stack fits like a glove. Also there are times when you go to print the print job wants to save as an xps file, that is a bit annoying, however, just hitting ctrl shift P, will bypass this and get on with the print job. Setting the printer up is very easy, everything is explained, almost everything you do with this printer will always have a confirmation beep sound, to let you know you are doing it right. If you don't hear this, you are not doing something properly. It prints fast for me, and it looks very professional. The scan feature works very well also, good quality image scanning. A really nice printer for the money.

Don't Buy!! The Paper Feed is Defective

I purchased this for college use and was very disappointed. I have never had a canon product before that has not impressed me. This was the first...Every time I tried to print the paper would bunch up and jam inside. I thought this was a problem, as I had only put in one piece of paper for a test print. However, when I tried putting in 10 pieces of paper, it sucks them all in at once and jams. Also, as others said it is VERY noisy on startup. I couldn't tell you about printing, cause it wouldn't work, but I am sure that it's noisy when it actually prints. I also waited 42 minutes on hold for customer support with canon and did not get a representative. Canon has disappointed me with this printer, and I would not recommend it to anyone. I would recommend that you either spend the extra $20-30 and buy a better canon printer, or go with another brand. I exchanged mine for a Hp officejet 4632 for $20 more and it prints flawlessly and is much quieter.
