I was happy with my Canon iP2600, but I wanted an all-in-one printer with a flatbed scanner. After seeing the price of this, it was a no brainer! I already was familiar with the sleek look of the Canon printers, but I was pleasantly surprised when I got it all set out on my desk.
I like the matte color. It looks professional, and won't show fingerprints and dust (like my iP2600 did). It has a flip out tray for papers to come out on as they print, and when not in use it looks like part of the printer.
The thing I was especially happy with was the place where you put the blank paper. My last printer had a flip up tray that stood up vertical when holding paper, and folded down on top of the printer when not in use. Although handy, I didn't particularly like how it looked, a bit temporary looking. This one has a tray that slides down into the printer when not in use, completely out of sight. I actually had to look around a bit to find it the first time!
Setting it up was a breeze. I was in a rush to leave the house. I had procrastinated setting up the printer until last minute, but really needed to print something to take with me (my other printer was low on ink too!) The instructions said installing the drivers and all would take up to 30 minutes (and I had to leave in 15, eek!) - but from first taking it out of the box to printing my first sheet took about 10 minutes. And a majority of that time was peeling off all the packing tape! I'm glad my printer was protected in the box, but sheesh! I could have taped down my belongings in preparation for a tornado with the amount of tape that came on that thing!
I have an Airport Express that I use with my printers, so I can print from anywhere in my home over the wifi. On my other printers it took awhile to get it to work with this. With the MP250 it was instantly recognized and I have had no compatibility problems with it!
On a side note, on installation I only installed the printer drivers and not any of the other software. To me it is unnecessary, since I have other programs that do this already on my computer.
Overall, I'm super satisfied. Just make sure you plan your time accordingly for tape removal!
