Have been successfully using for 30 consecutive days at a campground with very high water pressure. Despite previous cautionary reviews/warnings, I have not yet experienced any problems or product failures.

Bought this at my local Walmart today and installed today. Worked Ok for a couple of hours. My wife took a shower with no problem. I let the RV water heat back up then took my shower, or at least tried to. After about 30 seconds the water just shut off. I turned the faucet off and waited a few seconds. I turned the faucet back on and had water flow for about 3 seconds then it quit again. My wife tried a sink faucet and after a few seconds it quit. Finished my shower using the fresh water tank and the water pump with no problem. After, I went outside, disconnected the hose from the RV, turned the water on, heard lloud hammering and felt pulsing at the hose end, then the water quit. Removed the regulator and put the old regulator back on. Everything now works fine. I have never had a regulator problem before but do change the regulator every couple of years just to play it safe. I looked at the reviews for the same regulator on Amazon after this fiasco and guess what; several people had the same or similar problem. Will return it to Walmart tomorrow and replace with a non Camco regulator.

WATER PRESSURE REGULATOR

Shopped around. Walmart had the best price on this item. Some items in this category cost less elsewhere. I bought those items elsewhere.

1. Good question! It depends on how good your hose is. I chose to put it on the faucet end, and when I had someone else remove the hose before we broke camp, they left it on the faucet. Now I put it at the camper inlet.
by FacMgr1956
2. Super glued it on hose, left another behind prior.
by DonEG
3. If you actually bought one, return it to the store, otherwise it should go on the faucet end to protect the hose from bursting under higher system pressures.
by ludzidprod
4. Faucet. This keeps you from over pressurizing the hose, leading to early failure.

1. This regulator keeps the water pressure in a range of 40-50 psi.
by Speccop
2. One could always reduce pressure by controlling the flow. Do not turn the faucet on fully, let it run slower thereby reducing the pressure. That is what I do with my soaker hose and have had no problems.
by Wizard
3. This regulator only reduces down to 40 - 50 psi.
