Good for books, bad for photos

If you're looking for something to scan photo albums, this isn't for you. Glossy surfaces aren't well scanned, and all the photos I tried were grainy and off-color. That said, it's meant for large volumes of papers or books. It does them well, and the speed is refreshing (especially after using a flatbed scanner. What once took me 3-4 months to scan, now took me a couple of hours spread out over two days). The quality is better, too, as searchable pdfs or docs are now rendered with fewer mistakes. The double-paged scanning option is finicky, as you have to make sure that the crease is highlighted on your computer screen, and holding your thumbs in a horizontal position in order to hold the pages down gets tiring quickly. Overall, a good product, but for the price, I wish it scanned photos well. My phone takes a better image of a printed photo than this.
