Build this limited edition Cruise Ship with COBI! The RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean in the early hours of April 15th, 1912 after colliding with an iceberg during its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City. There were an estimated 2,224 passengers and crew aboard and more than 1,500 died, making it one of the deadliest commercial peacetime maritime disasters in modern history. RMS Titanic was the largest ship afloat at the time she entered service. This unique model from COBI is more than just a toy! Young or old you will enjoy the time spent assembling this incredible model. Once completed, this set makes for a very nice display piece for the mantel or a shelf on your child's bedroom wall. Interesting Facts: construction of this massive (at the time) cruise ship took more than 26 months and cost seven-and-a-half million dollars (three-hundred million in 2017). Not everyone knows that there were only three working smokestacks on the Titanic. The fourth one was added to achieve a pleasing aesthetic balance. At that time four funnels was seen as a sign of a big ship, so they added a fourth funnel to the Titanic which was empty. The ship burned more than 600 tons of coal a day ? it was shoveled by hand into its furnaces by a team of 176 men. Almost 100 tons of ash were ejected into the sea every 24 hours.

Great buy, cool ship!

I got this for my nephew, who's built Cobi sets before knows all the Titanic history and is excited to get started. Great quality, just as good as Lego. Instructions are easy to follow and bricks fit tightly together. Overall impressed! It's not an easy project (definitely not a beginner model) and requires patience and time like any serious model set. It's going to be huge build! Well done.
