Gentle laxative
Learned about using sorbital as a gentle bowel movement stimulator from an MD many years ago. With all my geriatric medications, I often will become constipated for 3 to five days. A spoon of sorbitol in a glass of water gets the movement started very gently within hours. There are many other factors effecting bowel movements, but this one is quick and gentle for getting things started.
