Surprised! I put icexwater in it well over 12 hours aho begore i went to bed, didnt use too much ice either and the ice still hadnt melted! An awesome cup for 9 bucks!
I bought my 30 oz, teal cup about a month ago when I started my job. I work in a 80 plus degree warehouse. My drink stays cold the whole 12 hours and I have ice the whole day. I've even left a drink in my hot car. The only scratch, and a small dent at the bottom, I have on my cup is from when I knocked it off a table at work onto the concrete floor. I haven't used it for a hot drink yet, but it's not an expensive cup and it's worn the money you spend! I love it.
This cup was given to me as a gift for my birthday and I have not stopped using it since! I literally take it everywhere. It's sort easy to clean and I don't have any scratched on it anywhere. So far I've only used it for cold drinks. I folk it up with ice in the morning and it starts cold until the next day! I've even left it in the car over night and the cup was still full of ice in the middle if the summer!
After doing research on the Yeti and Ozark Mountain 30 oz tumblers, I decided to buy the ozark mountain... Until I got to Walmart. One of the things I noticed were that all these tumblers are pretty much insulated the same.. So design was going to be a buying point, and price the next. The Yeti was $40. The ozark mountain was $9. So i went in for the ozark, however saw this 30 oz Built tumbler next to it at the same price point. My big difference in purchasing the Built.... Was that the lid had a swivel cover, rather than just an open hole like on the ozark. So I decided to take a chance on Built, even though I didn't really have a reference point. Got home, boiled my water for my French press coffee, and poured it in to see how long it keeps things warm, since most these reviews are for keeping it cold. After 4 hours, it was still HOT. And honestly, that's all I really need it to do. But I left it in there, and 12 hours later it was luke warm... Kind of like the last few sips of a cup of coffee... But it warmer than room temperature, and if I needed to, would still have been able to finish the coffee at that temperature.. (If I take 12 hours to drink coffee, something serious has happened to me.. Lol) Now, the lid... As I said, I bought this because I like the swivel lid. I don't like the open hole of the ozark.. Especially for driving.. Hit a bump, stuff can come out an open hole.. (in a tumbler, where's your mind??). But this is important.... This lid, (and the ozark from what I read) is not leak or spill proof... If you lay this down on its side, get some towels. These tumblers (Yeti, Ozark, Built) aren't made to be leak proof. They're meant to hold tons of liquid and insulate them. If you want leak proof, go with a screw cap like contigo has. So, we'll see how it hold up over time, but for me, it keeps liquid hot, and holds 30 oz... So that's all I need it to do. And am happy with the purchase. And it's $9 and change. So don't expect it to be the crush proof, leak proof, last for 100 years, change your tire when you get a flat, comfort you in times of loss tumbler like some people apparently expect it to be based on some bad reviews... It's a tumbler, after all....
I have had this cup in 20z a year. I recently purchased the 30z, and both are in rose gold. I love the steel feeling on these cups. I am so obsessed with these cups. I am looking forward to purchasing more colors. The only thing I don't like is the mouth piece and how it's not leak proof. You have to be very careful with it.
Good Cup, Poorly shipped and packaged I really like thes cups. I bought partner and I 2 of the 20 oz version to take to an allinclusive resort for the holday. Held frozen drinks frozen overnite! Back home i used mne for coffee which it keeps hot until i finish it. I bought a bigger one for cold drinks. Got it today from the pick up kiosk and the purple finish is chipped right out of the Walmart bag it was wrapped in . This truly truly sucks
I bought this because I loved the look/color and thought I'd save some $ over buying another Yeti... big mistake! The paint scratched off the sides after the second use and now I've noticed some rust spots on the inside bottom that do not wash away after soaking and scrubbing. Very disappointed :(
