This is a Brinks lockbox. Iv'e never been good at combination locks, so this was complicated for me. I finally did figure it out tho. To set new combination open the lock at the present number. Push reset lever left to b position, Set new combination on lock. Then push back the reset lever to the original position on the right. You then close the lock. But to keep the lock closed you have to scramble the number. Even one number scrambled will lock the lock. This lock is designed to keep your keys and cards safe and secure. Constructed from a high quality, solid metal container and harden steel shackle for superior cut resistance.

Customer reviews & ratings
I found this lock to be a bit complicated.
Tell your friends about this item.
Real estate salespeople have been using lock boxes for years but I was unaware that they were available to the general public. This lock box from Brinks is well made and very strong. The instructions are misleading and include pictures of some other item. If you look and feel carefully you can find the slide to change your pass code. Anything valuable can be kept inside as long as they are not bigger than a credit card or several keys. My lock box will be used to keep me from being locked out of the house. It will install over the handle on a door , around a pipe or in some hidden place you find. Changing the pass code is easy and opening the lock box is also easy. A very good item to have around the house.
BRINKS SECURITY AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
Forget your keys? Service provider? Real estate agent? Delivery? No problem. Use Brinks! This lock box is large, has a vinyl covered steel shackle and bumper. These will protect any door against damage. The inside housing measures 4¼" high x 2¾" wide x 1" deep. You can easily:
1. Keep an extra set of house keys in your lock box. It can be latched to your front door, ready for you or family members in case of emergencies.
2. Service Provider/Realtor? It allows high-security access. The lock box is cut resistant up to 3,500 lbs., has a solid metal inner housing, hardened steel shackle, and dial cover. You can reset any access number back to your own afterwards.
3. Friends collecting or making a drop-off? Use an easy-to-remember code (last 4 digits of their phone number) for them to open, relock when done, then turn the combination dial to say, 0-0-0-0. Pickup or delivery, you'll have peace of mind.
4. Even use as a mini home safe. Fasten to something BIG where it can't be seen. You don't have to stash money under your mattress ever again!
There are so many reasons to have a BRINKS LOCK BOX... need more?
This lockbox is GREAT! I love that i have somewhere to keep spare keys that is secure and more secure than just hiding them under a mat. It's very easy to change the code, and the box holds quite a few keys - if needed. We have 3 keys in ours and there is plenty of room for more. It's easy to open and clip on to door handles, shelving units, or other objects you need it to be. Overall, I'm VERY happy with it!
Easy to Use and Secure
We have a summer place approximately 100 miles away and a time or two my husband forgot to bring the keys. Luckily I was with him both times and I have a key for the front door. He never felt safe leaving a spare key for when something like that happened. But this heavy duty lock box that can be programmed with a number he will easily remember it feels secure leaving a spare key. It attaches to the door knob so will not get lost in the yard somewhere. Both of us feel better about having a secure place to leave a spare key.
great lock to have. wasable to stick it in a spot know body new and was able to hide my kiys that are needed if i lose my. i was able to relock the key box so no one could get into it.
Secure temporary storage for valuables
The Brinks 79 mm Lock Box is a secure place to temporarily store keys and other valuables. It has a 4-digit combination lock that is easy to reset to any combination. The inside compartment measures about 3.5 x 2.75 x 1 inches, which is large enough to store keys, jewelry, a watch, credit cards, or a small wallet. The box is made of heavy gage steel with a plastic covering, and has a padded rubber backing to prevent scratching the surface of whatever it is attached to. A thick vinyl-coated hardened-steel shackle is provided that can be attached to a door handle, fence post, pipe, etc. up to 1.25 inches in diameter. This box is a handy way to store a spare house key as the shackle will fit around the shaft of a door knob, although it would be obvious to a thief that something of value is inside. It would also be very useful at the beach for securing your valuables when you are in the water. The box is intended for outdoor use, but it is not waterproof, and I would not use it in a location where it will be exposed directly to rain. If the box was waterproof, I would have given it 5 stars.
A heavy weight a lock box.
This Brink's lock box is a nice heavy lock. It is wrapped in vinyl that will help keep the moisture from rusting it. It came with instructions that are easy to read. It took a few times to get the hang of how it works, but after a few more tries, it was a piece of cake. Hangs easily on the door knob. Has plenty of room for several business cards and keys. This is great for me considering how many times I've rushed out of the house without keys and cell phone. No more embarrassing moments asking your neighbor to use their phone to call a relative to pop on over so you can get back into your house. Makes you feel better that you have a secure way of keeping your extra keys. Nice product.
Worked for me!
This lock works great. I read reviews online and there were some negative ones but personally, I had no issues at all. As any other product, you cant be rough with it otherwise it will cause issues with functionality later.
Solid unit made well, combination dials too small
I received the Brink's 79mm Lock Box with Vinyl Wrapped Shackle, Black Finish in exchange for this review. This is a well made lock with a large lock box. It's covered in black plastic to protect it from weather and also has a sliding door to protect the combination dials. It was easy to reset combinations with the directions provided. The shake on top does not open until you use the combination and open the key box then you push a tiny lever inside and the shackle opens so you can put it on or take it off whatever door or place you want to put it. The only issue I had was with the combination dials being so tiny and set into the unit so they were hard to turn and I have small fingers. Not sure if someone with large hands and fingers would be able to turn them. I guess they could use a pen or something. Wouldn't really function well on my front door because I have a lever handle and would worry about sliding the lock off and stealing the whole unit. However for regular door handles it would work well.
