This is a great little compressor. Easy to put together, just a couple wheels to screw on and handle. Plug out in and adjust the dials to what you need. The dials are easy to use and clear to read. In less than 5 minutes its at 150psi and ready by to go. We've aired tires, ran a nail gun with it. It has a water- condensation drain on the bottom. I wouldn't say its good for constant heavy work but its good for lighter things like we used it for and I would definitely recommend it. Its small and easy to store. We've had no issues so far abd we don't expect any. Its a quality piece that most handymen like my husband need.

Buy hose seperately
Bought this for my husband for early Christmas gift but I wouldn't know how it works since it does NOT include a hose and is completely worthless without this part that apparently has to be purchased seperately.

Nice compressor

This is a good compressor to have for the average DIY person. It is a 110 set up so it will plug in easily to most 110 outlets. It was very easy to put together and the wheels roll nicely. It is big enough to run 3 nail guns at the same time when we put down the new floors in my den and didn't have any trouble. It didn't take long to build air and pressure stayed up. I was very impressed. I just finished using it to spray paint the walls in the garage and it ran the gun just fine and kept pressure up for that also. It is very easy to move around. I am 55 and don't move like I use to so this being easy to move around is very important to me. My son came over the other day and was even impressed with it. He says it should to everything I need around the house plus some. It didn't come with hose or fittings but a simple run to Lowe's and that was all taken care of. I am going to make some sort of tray or box to put my fittings and stuff in so they will always be with the compressor.

I have also used it to air up a few tires and it has done that just fine as well.

The only con I have found so far is that it is a bit loud when inside but not bad while its outside working.

Powerful and Compact

I decided to get this small air compressor because it is always a lot of trouble to lay out hoses from my big stationary compressor to use my nail guns and other small air powered tools. I had no issues assembling the wheels or handle. It was accurate in the pressure readings as well. The only suggestion I would have is why waste all that space on the handle when you could add a couple of brackets to hold the air hose? I am sure I will get a lot of use from this compressor.

Nice compressor

This is a very nice electric compressor. It seems to have the power to do most jobs. But I don't think it can handle constant use. I think that it needs rest between use to have the pressure build back up. Which isn't that normal for a small compressors?

The compressor makes about the same amount of noise when using as most compressors do. Building up pressure isn't quiet. And with it being an Oil-Free Electric Compressor, it doesn't give off the types of fumes that gas compressors would.

It has a Tank Pressure Gauge and a Working Pressure Gauge, with a built-in regulator, that are good sized, so that makes them easy to read. It has a quick coupler for easy attachment of a hose, which is not included. Along with a pressure release valve. All of this is on the top of the compressor. And a moisture drain valve on the bottom of the compressor.

It is a nice size. Overall it is 32" long including the handle. It is 22" high to the top of the motor. And 14" wide wheel to wheel, which is the widest point on it. The wheels are 5-3/4" tall x 2" wide. They have plastic rims with rubber treads. It rolls very easily on hard surfaces. And it has 2 feet on the bottom at the handle end that have rubber caps on them.

The 1.5 horse power Universal motor has a 6 foot cord with a 3 prong plug. Being an electric motor it seems to have the power you might expect from a gas engine. It has 4.8 CFM at 40 PSI. And 3.7 CFM at 90 PSI. There is a Velcro strap attached to the cord for easy binding of the cord after you roll it up to store. The handle is easy to remove for storing in shorter places.

Amazing

OK i got this in the mail thinking it would not be this big, but this little Giant is a work Horse.

My friend today was doing a flooring job in a house he did a small contracting job on after bidding on the work. I called him up and said hey i just got this new Air Compressor lets put this bad boy to work and OH did it ever. It handled his Big Air Nailing Gun he was using to put the nails in the New wood floor he was laying in the kitchen with ease. My buddy told me This Briggs and Stratton air Compressor would work awesome for Flooring, Nailing, Finishing, amongst other job's. The Motor Mounted on the top, it's running Horse Power is 1.5. It's also oil free making pump maintenance non-existent. It operates at a rate of 4.8 standard cubic feet per minute (CFM) at 40 PSI. The Handle for the Compressor comes off as well for ease of storage purposes. The two wheels it comes with are Beefy making rolling it around bigger obstacles or up stairs even easy. Not to mention for its size, it's not really that heavy so portability all around is 5 stars i'd say. These are all of the PROS.

The Only two cons i ran into are that. 1 the handle was bent or warped making the two holes NOT line up while putting the Handle in the holes to tighten the two little butterfly screws it came with to hold the Transportation Handle in place a PAIN to get/screw into place. We had to pretty much bend the dang thing back into place. #2 IT'S LOUD! But that's it if you can get over that this Air Compressor is pretty much the bomb for being the very 1st one iv'e ever owned.

Review of Briggs & Stratton air compressor

This is a solid unit, very sturdy, a little loud but compressors aren't usually quiet. The only things you have to assemble are the wheels & handle, everything else is ready to go to work. The underneath drain has a finger friendly nozzle you turn to drain the tank, no tools needed for that. The CFM rating is more than enough to keep up with 'around the house' needs or small to medium tasks such as trimming out a house. The tires are molded plastic so they'll never go flat or need air. The handle toggle screws are machine threaded & have a wing nut to tighten them, again, no tools needed. You will need a socket & wrench or 2 wrenches to tighten the wheel bolts however, minimal assembly for such a nice compressor. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to family or friends. It runs strong, pumps out tons of air, is sleek looking. I love it.

Great Compressor for the Homeowner

This Briggs and Stratton Air compressor is a great compressor to have for the homeowner or even for light commercial use. It produces 4.8 cubic feet of air per minute at 40 pounds of pressure. This is plenty of air to use for all our nailing guns: framing nailer, finish nailer and brad gun. It puts out enough air to run them continuously. The instructions say the compressor will run a full size paint sprayer only intermittently, it works well with our smaller "touch up" shading gun with no let down. The compressor has a convenient handle and is mounted on 6 inch wheels. It is easy to move and take to the garage to fill the air in the car tires. I can even wheel it outside for small projects. I recently filled it with air, unplugged it and took it to the far end of the house to use with the brad gun to replace some trim. The tank held plenty of air for the project. The compressor is fitted with a female quick coupler so you just plug in your hoses. Both gauges are included with an easy to set pressure regulator. A nice feature is the air release valve. Most compressors have it located on the very bottom of the tank where it is hard to get to. This compressor's release is located slightly to the side where it is easy to reach. Instead of being threaded, it has an easy 90 degree on and off. I would highly recommend this product.

My opinon of the Briggs & Stratton 8 Gal. Air Pump

Buyer keep in mind, this Air-pump does not come with the necessary hose or air-chuck that is needed to properly operate, these items are sold separately.

This Air-pump has a 1.5 hp, 120-volt Briggs & Stratton motor, has a maintenance-free oil-less pump. The inner part of the wheel's are made of a hard plastic, the outer part is rubber which makes it easier to pull. Some assembly is required, but it's very simple to do. The handle slides into, two fixed sleeves on top of the 8 gal metal tank, and fastens with two winged screws, the wheel's are attached with bolt's and spring washer's, and that's it, everything else such as the pressure guage's are pre-attached. It takes two minutes to fully fill the tank with air, it's recommended that the tank be emptied through the drain plug on the bottom of the tank after each use to prevent rusting. The instructions do not recommend the use of extension cords, but if it is absolutely necessary then it gives specs on what type of cord to use.

As with most electrical tool's, the motor is a little loud, and will automatically refill as you are working on your project if it is getting low on pressure, so I would recommend using caution while in close proximity of the tank while it is in use. (ear plugs are cheap). After the tank is filled, and you have the necessary attachments in place, you can use it for many different projects.

I have an 80 gal stationary air tank, so I really like this Compressor it is very convenient, the way it is designed with the handle protruding over the front of the tank makes it easy to grab and go, very easy to handle. It sturdy built yet it is light weight Overall it runs great, I'm very pleased with it. I would recommend it to a friend.

A good air compressor.

I do want to say that I am a complete novice when it comes to air compressors. However, I can tell you a few things about the Briggs & Stratton 8 gallon hot dog oil free air compressor. First of all, you will have to attach the handle and wheels to the unit. The handle was easy. It could be screwed in by just your hand. With the wheels, you actually have to have a socket and ratchet to tighten the bolts. I do recommend attaching the handle and wheels since the unit is a bit heavy to carry around. Next, you are not ready to go. You will have to have or purchase an air hose and couplers to use the unit. This actually is a whole other ball game since there are different size couplers and hoses. A bit of good news is that there is something called a "quick coupler" at the air line outlet that lets you easily change between the sizes. Once you get all of that worked out, the unit is easy to use and very handy to have around any home. The electric cord for the unit is about 72 inches long. There is also a plastic card attached to the unit. It is a tool compatibility chart that has different types of air tool listed on both sides and lists if it takes continuously or intermittently air.

Compressor

This compressor has some assembly but it was very easy. I had my son help me lift it out of the box because it was so heavy. Once I added the wheels and handle I could easily move this where ever I wanted. The compressor does not come with any hoses. Those are all things I know. What I don't know is how well it works. We had some pretty cold temperatures and the box was damaged when I got it. Anyway between the cold temperatures and the delivery the pressure gauge sheared right off and there is no way of fixing it. I placed this in our garage next to our other compressor so I thought it would be okay.
