These are nice looking and very sturdy stools - well worth the price for their utility. Be aware, they take a loooong time to assemble - very tedious. Also, the quality is uneven. The wood is not totally smooth in places, there is an undulation in the surface of the backs, as if sanded by hand or machine but without great care. This what you get from something made in Malaysia. The black paint is fine except on the corners, where the finish is rough. I was able to fix the items that bothered me, so I will keep them for casual use. Be aware, these are far from high end stools. You get what you pay for.
