Great isolate and great price.

I actually look forward to drinking it after a workout. The price is also good compared to other isolates. I was using the non-isolate Body Fortress and liked the taste and consistency. I switched to the isolate because of the reduces cholesterol in it compared to the non-isolate. You will find some debates on the web about the effect of cholesterol in protein powders, and I am not arguing for or against either side of the debate. I just made a personal decision to not chance it. The isolate is about 40% more expensive, but again, it is worth it to me with a similar great taste and consistency. I have no complaints about it not mixing well, as it does fine for me in a shaker bottle, and I use water. I will say that my wife couldn't get used to the consistency, but I think it is just a matter of getting used to it, as she has never used a protein shake.

Great for men & women

Contrary to the other reviews 2 scoops mixed with cold water it does taste like chocolate and if your drinking it down like your supposed to and not sipping on it then its fine. One person in one of the reviews mentioned they were mixing it with coffee,(it should not be mixed with a hot beverage) If you do have an after taste than swish with a little water afterwards and that takes care of the problem. This product is best used shaken not stirred or blended. The shaker cups with the shaker in the cup smoothly blends the product out. (Shake for about 25-30 seconds)This products works great if you are looking to lose body fat and gain lean muscle. Works quickly if best combined with exercise. Great for men & women.

Not sure what the fuss is about...

I have to wonder if the other reviewers were expecting a milkshake mix? I'll give them that it's not overly sweet (which Iike personally), but I don't know where everyone is getting it's horrible tasting. Add in the fact that comparatively (to other protein powders here) its the best combination of low cal, low carb, high protein, low salt isolate, with a heck of a price to match. If you;re looking for something that tastes like Hershey's Chocolate Syrup, this is not for you. If you want a well balanced fast acting blend with a light chocolate flavor, this may be the right blend for you. Maybe it's just my preference, but I like a mealy mouthfeel with my shakes, it makes them seem more filling, oddly enough like an old fashioned malt shake. That's what I would describe this as. It's certainly nowhere near a "sawdust" consistency. I would say a spoon and glass ISN'T the way to go with this blend and I suggest investing in a good blender cup or a bullet style blender. My only other complaint is for the company: this was kind of like the Lays potato chips of powders. I get settling may occur, but the bottle was half empty when I opened it (I weighed it and there was in fact 1.5lbs of powder), be a little more earth conscious with your packaging and you might cut your own overhead as well, using less plastic, or just go for the industry standard 2lbs of product.
It is so much better than the Whey I was drinking.

You need to know what you are buying.

I use this product regularly as a pre bedtime protein supplement. Why pre sleep? Probably for the very reason many people are giving it bad reviews. It is not a pure "whey" protein, it is a mix of whey, soy and milk proteins. The purpose of the mix is to get a release of protein over an extended period, excellent before sleeping so your body has a supply of protein as it repairs itself. It is during sleep that your body recovers/rebuilds after a hard workout. That is the purpose of this protein powder, sustained release. This sustained release is provided by the slower digestion of soy, and then the milk proteins. 100% Whey protein is fast release best used right after or even during a workout. They serve two purposes, fast release, or sustained release. Read the labels people. The Whey Protein is 100% whey protein. The Isolate Protein contains whey, soy and milk protein. Body Fortress STILL makes the "old formula", i.e. 100% Whey. THAT is the old "good tasting" formula you speak of. The Isolate formula will NOT taste as good nor mix as easily as whey. Any old timer that remembers when only "Milk and Egg" proteins were available can attest to the fact they all tasted bad back then. So choose your protein powder to suit its intended use. You want easy mixing, great taste, lower protein content (it takes more grams in weight of whey than isolate to equal 30 grams of protein) and fast absorption, then choose whey. If you want sustained release for slower absorption over a longer period of time such as when sleeping, then use this Isolate mix. Just throw in a blender with skim or 2% milk, blend for 15-20 seconds and it isn't bad at all. taste or texture wise. After all, we aren't taking this supplement for it's taste but for it's effect. So now my gripe section. When I read, "They changed a good tasting product to a griddy horrrible inferior supplement. Now you get 1.5 lbs instead of 2 lbs" I want to scream BECAUSE you are buying Protein Isolate, NOT 100% Whey which is still available (at a great price when ordering two I might add) and it still weighs 2lbs. Protein Isolate has always been 1.5 lbs. Compare the protein content of each type per weight. It is almost identical. By that I mean you get the same amount of protein from 1.5 lbs of the isolate mix as 2 lbs of 100% whey. And when I read, "If you want Whey ISO look elsewhere. This is a blended, cheaper protein iso. I wonder how much of this blend is even whey?" I say EXACTLY!!!!, it is not 100% whey, it is a blended mix. IT SAYS SO RIGHT ON THE LABEL!!!! My one last gripe is against the gripes about the container. I see such things as, "nearly HALF of the container is just air! For 20-25 bucks" and "This container comes two thirds empty when bought. All the extra air is how they keep this the cheapest option on the shelf." Seriously? You are buying by weight, NOT volume. And it is $18.98 for that weight. If it came in a 30 gallon pail for $18.98 and barely covered the bottom of the container, you are STILL getting 1.5 lbs of product. I would like to see smaller containers simply for the amount of space it would save but I suspect they save money in manufacturing costs by using the same, the larger container used for the 100% Whey. I suspect we will see that change to a smaller tub in the future so as to save on both manufacturing and shipping costs. If you read this far, thanks for your attention and I hope I cleared up some misconceptions about this product. I still recommend it as an excellent value for a good product. Oh, and I don't mind the taste at all.
