Great product for cheap!

I've owned this for about 9 months now and it has served me really well thus far. It toasts frozen bread very well -- the settings are very adjustable. The look is also sleek and it doesn't take a lot of counter space :) Would definitely recommend this product for sure!

Dead out of the Box

Bought this toaster because I'm replacing a B&D model that has worked flawlessly for years... This one was a piece of junk right out of the box. First thing I noticed was the shade control knob felt like it was about to fall off in my hand. After unpacking it and plugging it in it was time to run it through a couple of cycles to burn off that new toaster smell... to my dismay the toaster wouldn't stay down... if I jammed it rather hard I'd get a hint that it was going to work because the one light would come on momentarily, however I never could get it to work. This one went back to the store the very next day and sadly I am forced to look at other brands. If this is the quality that B&D is going to produce they won't last much longer.

Bang For Your Buck!

Works Great, I have had NO problems with this Toaster. please note the power cord is short (the same length as a coffee pot).

Really snazzy looking toaster...

I haven't purchased a toaster in years, simply because my old proctor silex worked well until it kind of went up in smoke. I purchased this one from Walmart, and it has several settings, and lights a shinny blue when it's warming your toast or bagels (it has a setting for both) The downfall of this toaster is that you have to crank it so far up for it to actually toast your bagels. It's not really consistent, as I have a specific preference, but I'm not complaining, it's a pretty good toaster for the price.

Not that great...

Unless you open this up and get the quirks out of it, don't bother!! We used this for 2.5 years, and you had to constantly press the button down multiple times to get it to stay down. Once opened, I found that the lever is not aligned properly with the contacts and electro-magnet. Yes, Black and Decker quality control did poorly on this and others. The coils are working perfectly on the one we have, but does keep toasting for a long time. We really had to "dial" it in per say. Now that the lever is in alignment with the contacts, it works perfectly every time, no more slamming the lever down!! Note: if you do get in alignment, clean the two contacts; more often than not, you will see black soot (sand paper will work)

garbage

i just bought this toaster today, as a replacement for an even cheaper one i bought from walmart earlier this week, which bagels would not fit in... this one has an extremely short cord, so was hard to find a place to plug it in. i put in some bread to test it. when the toast popped up, it looked like it was done perfectly, not burnt, maybe a little light even; until i pulled it out of the toaster. it was COLD and HARD AS A ROCK. it was kinda gross, and nothing i want to eat. i think i'll be trying another store for my next toaster.

Listen to what the other say!

I received the item as a gift, and before I opened it I looked on-line to see what the ratings were. I am sad to say they were "right on." I opened the box, plugged the unit in, and like the other raters I sat there and watched as about 60% of the coils began to heat up. The others did nothing, which I assume is because there was no coil I could see. Come on Black and Decker, how did this item pass your QC department in this shape. It will be returned to the local Walmart tomorrow.

Black & decker toster

I like this toaster this is what i was looking for.For the price i pay I think it's a good toaster. My son like the way the toast come out. I like that it has a cancle button in case you want to stop the toaster from toasting to much.I like the way this toaster look from the outside. The only thing i do not like is that it has a this smelll i hope after so many days of me using the toaster it will go alway.Other than that i like it.

It's Just OK

I just moved into a new home and I wanted to get rid of my old toaster. So I thought this one would do good despite the reviews and when I took it home a was so excited and plugged it in and everything heated up good but be careful. It heats up really fast. But I burn my fingers every time I get something out. I have to flip it over and get it out that way. And the cord is really short. Maybe 2 feet. I am not happy.

Just Say No !!!

Just say no to purchasing this toaster. Since day one it never has toasted evenly. It doesn't pop up high enough to get the toast out without burning yourself. And now the lever won't stay down I have to stand there and hold it down until it's finished. All of this and I've only owned it for about 2 months. Please save yourself alot of frustration and just pick a different toaster to buy.
