I bought this piece for our finished basement where I've created a teen hangout. It is comfortable to sit on and sleep on. It folds out easily. We've had it for over a year and it's held up well and this is with a group of teen boys using the space, playing video games, eating, and just laying around.

Modern, Sleek, Cute Sofa
I love this sofa! The color is on point with trend and allows me to match different pop colors. The nail heads add a nice warmth making it super cute! Not only is it cute but the sofa is also very comfortable! I can't wait to host and have friends over!
Good quality for the price
I was skeptical of the reviews for this futon because so many of them were written by Walmart employees. However, we are happy with it. I'd probably give it a 4.5 if I could, but with only a 4 or 5 as an option, I'll have to go 5 based primarily on value. THE GOOD: It is not super high quality, but it is certainly worth the price As other's have noted, the fabric is not as dark as the picture, which we like. It is almost an oatmeal gray, and there is variation in the threads - some are darker, some are more of a cream color. This variation adds depth and bumps up the visual quality. It is very well made, very heavy. UPS in our neighborhood is horrifyingly bad, and they handled this package just as bad as anything else we've gotten (we have about a 50% damage rate for stuff delivered by UPS), but this thing is a beast and survived just fine. Probably the biggest win is that it looks great. It is compact in size, good for small places, and looks like it cost much more than it did. THE BAD: The arms simply connect with bolts at the bottom, so if you lean against the arms or put pressure on them, they give a bit and bow out to the side. One of our arms didn't screw in as well as the other to begin with, so it is already starting at an angle, and now even the slightly pressure makes it bend even more. I imagine this will get worse with time. We plan to use this a bed for guests, and unfortunately it doesn't fit anyone much taller than 5'7". Also the dividers between the cushions create divots, which isn't the greatest for sleeping. We purchased a 3" foam topper to make it more comfortable, recommend doing this. You can't tuck a fitted sheet around the front half, not sure how we will deal with this yet, likely will need to make a customized fitted sheets with elastic straps or something. Also, when this is folded out, it is not the standard size of any mattress. Larger than a twin and smaller than a full, so we will have to cut the foam topper we purchased to fit (buying a full size and then cutting it to size will work) and again customize a fitted sheet. Lastly, the two seat cushions are sewn together, so when you sit the fabric pulls and stretches between the cushions. It looks kinda cheap when this happens, and my guess is that over time this seam will fail. No cushions are removable, everything is sewn together. Bottom line: it looks great, it will work OK for sleeping but functions best as seating, and certainly worth the price. Would absolutely recommend.
The design/function of this futon is perfect for ou needs! Just like most new furniture, it is a bit firm at first ...but easily becomes a great place to take a nap. Ideal for an apartment or media room!
Really nice esp. for the price!
We needed seating/sleep space in an attic space that we turned into a shared music studio/spare bedroom. This futon was the perfect choice for a number of reasons. #1, its affordable, #2, it'll fit an adult sized sleeper (probably comfortable for someone up to 6 ft) unlike SOOO many other affordable futons that won't fit someone taller than 5'4", #3, the finishes on this futon make it look a lot more expensive than it was (the linen blend fabric and upholstered 'pottery barn' look). The futon feels solid and sturdy, it is firm when you sit/sleep on it. It is so easy to put together, just put the legs on. As far as the color- its gray, however grays (esp linen blend fabrics) always have different thread contrast colors, they're never just gray. This futon is primarily a lighter charcoal gray with an oatmeal colored contrast tone. Both hues are apparent, but the gray is definitely more prominent. I hope this helps, as identifying the true color of anything when purchasing online is always a bit of a guessing game.
This is a great sofa. Everyone is always surprised when I tell them its a futon. I was a little disappointed that the color is a lot lighter in person. More of a mid-tone grey than a darker or charcoal grey like the photos. But I love the mid-century design and the studs on the arm rests. It can fit up to 4 people pretty comfortably & overall it's a great sofa/futon!
My husband and I live in a small 600 Sq foot house, we needed additional space when family came into town. Lo and behold wal mart came through. I was kinda iffy about the whole "futon" idea, but it has surprised me. I love the modern lines and it's actually pretty comfy! It's our main cough as well so the "firmness" will hopefully mean longer lasting. The bed fits both my husband and I (though we haven't actually slept on it) so that's another plus. The color is light grey, not taupe like others have suggested. Overall, it's a cute simple stylish couch that can occasionally be used for a bed, that's really all I was asking for :-)
Great so far!
We love the couch so far! It's only been a few weeks but it is comfy in the way that you don't sink down and get lost and has the appropriate firmness in my opinion. Add some cute throw pillows to have something to cuddle up to and as a futon, it is comfortable for guests and easy to assemble!
Great couch for price... Some unmentioned details
My husband and I bought this couch for our first apartment. The price was great. It's comfortable to sit on. It doesn't look like a futon front the front at all. I read one review that said the material was scratchy, but it seems fine to me. It really looks great with our decor. It folds down easily. There were a few things I wish I would have known. The nail heads on the front are all connected, and it does look a bit cheap, in my opinion. Some black material can be seen in the back. There are also two zippers in the back to hide the legs that fold down to support the futon. I think from the back it is a bit unattractive. If it were up against a wall, most of those would of course not be an issue at all. I would say the color is for sure taupe, not the charcoal pictured.
After looking at all the reviews on this couch I was a little hesitant in buying it. The matter of fact is, it's not a great couch, but it's not terrible. We sit on it and have had people sleep on it and lay down on it and no one has complained. The back part that can stay up straight, recline, or go all the way down into a bed position is really hard, but the reclining mechanism is great and easy and with a few throw pillows it's no big deal. The seat part is not nearly as hard, but it's not a "sink in" kind of soft either. It's also extremely easy to put together and it looks great, but it's a bit lower than expected. For a college student or apartment living it's a good couch and will do just fine, but if you have more money to spend or a bigger area I'd suggest getting something a little more high end.
