I purchased the weathered twin bed, dresser and closet for my 15 year old grandson's bedroom. It is so nice, I almost wish it was in my room instead!! I had a friend assemble the pieces and although he did complain about the length of time it took and the number of pieces, he did agree that it was not only a beautiful bedroom set...it was also quite sturdy.

Better Homes and Gardens Crossmill Dresser, Weathered Finish
|Better Homes & Gardens|
My husband and I just bought and assembled this dresser and are very happy. Assembly instructions were clear, but it took several hours (for one person). But that's worth this piece looking so nice for its price. It easily supports our 49" tv in our living room. It looks like real, weathered barnwood. It's perfect for us with a toddler since it's actually particle board, a faux finish, and a great price. I don't have to worry about it getting scratched or dented! We looked at a different piece from this line in the store and think the finish looks even better at home. The drawers glide well and overall seems sturdy and well made. Champagne tastes on a beer budget win!!
Crossmill Dresser Weathered
Such a great dresser! Looks amazing. Took a couple hours (probably 4) to put everything together. I absolutely love how it turned out. Had to readjust some things on the drawers at the end to make them all fit nicely (as it stated in the directions). Trying to upload a photo with the finished product.
Very Nice Sturdy Dresser
This dresser is totally solid. All the parts come neatly packaged (including all the small things like screws and bolts). The only trouble I had was when the back piece of the dresser needed to be tacked on as it didn't line up. However, that was my own fault as I didn't understand that I needed to maneuver the dresser itself to line it up square with the back piece. The dresser is beautiful, and I love it!
Easy to assemble and real sturdy
A great dresser and was easy to put together. There are a lot of pieces but it only took about and hour for me to put together. It may take longer for others but is well worth the work. I was surprised by how big the drawers were just another plus for me. I noticed in other reviews that people mentioned they had to adjust the drawers. You do have to adjust them by loosing the screws in the front of the brackets and reposition the bracket to fit (that's the way it was made and the instruction tell you that). Also on the drawers there are 3 fronts labeled G and 3 fronts labeled F. The ones labeled F are a bit lighter than the ones labeled G. The instructions say to put the ones labeled G on the left side and F on the right side. I did that at first and it looked alright but I thought it would look better if they dark and light were mixed. So I switched the two middle drawers and like that look even better. I have the nightstands to go with the dresser and will be ordering the TV stand next.
I was sadly disappointed with this dresser....
If you're going for the look, then you will absolutely get what you see in the picture! Which is great, because for not being true rustic wood, it really fools you with it's appearance. However; it is just not made to withstand much I don't believe. We had a couple different boards that were warped really bad; and in which you can see if you're looking at it from the front. The drawers don't line up correctly either. And I'm not sure if the left drawers were made on one line and the right drawers on another line in the factory, but the left side are a noticeable few shades darker than the right. I am noticing just after only having it a couple weeks that when I open the drawers it sort of tugs on the front panel piece; so I am thinking I will have to glue those here sometime soon. This is definitely one of those times where, "you get what you pay for", is the truth unfortunately.
Crossmill Dresser - Weathered finish
I've assembled a lot of cabinets in the past including several bedroom sets, but this dresser assembly was by far the most time consuming. I do not believe the reviewer who claimed they assembled this in one hour. I would suggest to plan on at least three hours for one fairly skilled person to assemble correctly. Instructions were fine, there's just a lot of steps and a lot of screws. On my drawer assembly either the bottom panels were cut too big or the slots aren't deep enough, but I couldn't tighten up the drawer side to the back without cracking the boards (see photo). Because that made the glides too tight for the drawers to work, I now have to take the drawers apart and rip 3/8" off each bottom panel and then reassemble. The drawer glides are very cheap on these cabinets. I bought the nightstands also and no matter how much adjusting, they will never open and close very smoothly. I wish they used high quality glides like those on Ikea products. The only positive is that I think it is nice looking furniture and I like the weathered surface. I don't believe the dresser is a very good value at this price, considering the time consuming assembly. I thought the night stands were a much better value.
