Better Homes & Gardens, Wood and Metal Lantern

This is so adorable and strong. I think I live in a wind tunnel it’s ALWAYS windy so I was kinda concerned that it would blow off my porch table but it stayed in place I love it

We live in an area known for summer storms and hurricanes. Having an extra lantern around just in case we lose electricity is nice. Having a lovely lantern like this better Homes & Gardens one is wonderful!! It is a combination of wood and metal. It stands about 12 inches tall and 6 inches wide and deep. I put a 3 inch pillar candle inside and it worked perfectly. The top is sort of a hat in that it lets the smoke out from the candle, but it just makes it look pretty. It also has a handle, so you can move it, but I wouldn’t recommend moving it with a lit candle though. Overall I love this!! It’s a functional new part of my dining room decor.

I received this lantern for a review. The Better Homes and Garden wood and metal lantern is week made and attractive. However, it does not come with a battery operated candle as shown in the photo I had originally seen. I do have the pillar candles. But, I recently moved and they are still packed. I placed the 4 cute candles in the lantern until I find my pillars. A 4, 5 or 6 inch battery operated pillar candle would fit nicely inside the lantern. I'm going to add some fake greenery in the lantern as well. It is approximately 12 inches to the top, not including the hanger ring. The approximate width is 5 1/2 inches of each side. When looking at the lantern through the glass, it measures approximately 6 1/2 inches. I will be placing a 4 or 5 inch pillar into the area. The inside base is metal and reflects the light. The lantern looks great on the top of my bookcase. But, will eventually be hanging it in my patio area. On top of the lantern is a hanging accommodating ring making hanging a breeze. It is of rustic decor, which I favor. I recommend this lantern as a decor accent to your home.

I received this product from the Spark Reviewer program. It's much larger that I thought it was going to be. I love it. It's going to go great with my patio stuff. I am going to put a LED candle in it and it's going to look great. Very rustic and farmhouse themed. The glass panes are super clear. It's a nice piece.

I just love my Better Homes & Gardens, Wood and Metal Lantern. It looks exactly as pictured in the ad. The construction is sturdy and it has the feel that it will last a good while. The reflective bottom allows great dispersal of what ever candle or light you put in, so you can tailor the mood by how you light it up. Better Homes and Gardens has been a name I can trust for years and they will continue to be a name to be trusted with items like this lantern. <3

I have recommended this to my friends and family and will be buying more in the near future!

I JUST RECEIVED THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LANTERN. I PUT MY FLAMELESS LED PILLAR CANDLE IN IT AND IT WAS SO UNIQUE SITTING THERE FLICKERING. IT ALSO CAME FULLY ASSEMBLED SO ALL I HAD TO DO WAS ADD MY CANDLE AND ENJOY. THIS ONE IS 7.68 SQUARE AND 14.08 HIGH AND ALSO THERE IS A SMALLER ONE THAT MATCHES IT IF YOU WANT TO ORDER THAT ONE TOO. IT MEASURES 6.496 SQUARE AND 11.91 HIGH. THERE IS A REAL CUTE SAFETY LATCH ON THE DOOR SO YOU CAN CARRY IT FROM ROOM TO ROOM OR OUTSIDE. IT CAN BE HUNG ON A SHEPHERD'S HOOK OUTSIDE OR ON A WALL SCONCE HOOK INSIDE. IT IS DISTRESSED STAINED WOOD AND GLASS. IT IS PERFECT FOR PARTIES, WEDDINGS AND ALL OCCASIONS. FOR A SPA SETTING JUST ADD YOUR FAVORITE AROMATHERAPY CANDLE. IF YOU USE REAL CANDLES WE ALL KNOW THE SAFETY MEASURES TO FOLLOW SO JUST SIT BACK AND ENJOY. I AM.

Overall, I am pretty happy with the Better Homes and Gardens wood and metal lantern. The wood and metal combination is beautiful – and I love the color of the wood! It has a rustic look without feeling too country. I was really surprised at how flimsy the door was! When I pulled it out of the box, the door wasn’t latched and was just swinging freely in both directions. I would have thought there would be a stop or something that would keep it from swinging inside the lantern, but there wasn’t. I found it rather difficult to close the latch on the door because the door had to be lined up exactly right with the frame of the opening on the lantern. I wasn’t too impressed with the quality of the door – just seems like it was cheaply made. The lantern itself is actually pretty lightweight and I like that you have the option to sit it on a table, or to hang it from the hook on top of the lantern. I do wish the bottom metal panel where you n sit the candle or whatever light had some kind of recess or dish in the middle of the pan to hold the candle a little better – so it doesn’t feel like it can just slide around inside the lantern at the slightest movement. But, that wouldn’t allow for the versatility of being able to put any shaped candle inside the lantern, and the metal bottom seems to help hold it in place ok. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for some rustic lighting décor!

It is large that it is a good size. The front opens were the candle goes, its had a lock handle to keep door close. Handle on top it can be hang up on a hook inside or outside. Plus can be use on table. Metal on the bottom inside. Not sure if I will be using a real candle for the bottom may get to hot, with a real candle the top will get hot (I know for pass use with lantern). The use of LED candle for inside and outside, with some flowers inside too.

This is a real glass lantern. It didn't come with a candle, but I'm going to put a plastic one in it. This will be great on my patio, late summer nights, maybe with a citronella candle to keep away mosquitos and moths.

I tried it with a flashlight candle, it's cute! Made of wood and glass, so it's a bit fragile (so only 4 stars) but has a solid hanging hook.

Wipes down easily with a little Windex and paper towel, and has a metal-like bottom to hold candle drippings, but you should always use a candle holder when in use.

If you don't look too closely, it's a nice looking centerpiece for a table or a light you can use temporarily outside. I wouldn't leave it out there in the rain or in acidic or salty environments, like the coast. The top has a square opening in the center with a black painted metal, iron-like texture. There are four rectangular openings under the ringed handle, for smoke, heat and light to escape. And of course the nice looking hinges and latch are made of metal. The wood is light-weight and stained brown. Based on my experience, it would be wise to inspect this in person, before purchase. The workmanship is sloppy in some areas, and the wood on my sample looked like it came from the scratch and dent sale. The latch is a nice feature, and the thin pained glass windows, make it attractive, whether it contains a candle or not. It doesn't come with a candle, but if you want to use one, a six inch high pillar candle would be a good choice.
