This diffuser is beautiful. When not in use it is a bright shiney silver. When you do plug it in it had a 3D effect. Looks like you are looking at the stars. This has two buttons. You turn on the diffuser with one and the other turns on the lights. You can use one without the other, but not sure why you would want too! There are several different settings for the lights. First push of the button turns on the light show that will slowly change and to thru all the colors. You can also push the button and pick just one of the colors if you don’t like it changing. The diffuser part is really easy to fill. You remove the outer shell by lifting straight up. Then there is a water holder inside. There is a full line so you don’t overfill. Then just add a couple drops of your oil. It made my living room and dining room smell amazing. I love to turn it on as soon as I get home from work everyday. It does shut off when the water runs out of the diffuser. This one came with 2 100% pure essential oils. Lavender and peppermint. Good ones to start out with. There are no instructions on what these two are good for so read up on them. You can also buy different flavored oils to put in it. I used the peppermint and it was amazing. This does make a very quite noise as it is diffusing. To me it is a calming noise, I could fall asleep listening to it. It is not loud. Just be aware it is not completely silent. Also important. Do NOT turn on the diffuser if you haven’t put the lid back on the water tank inside lol yep I did and it will bubble over
