This is a great protection and power device for the home and especially for the traveler. It was well explained on Walmart's web page, best price I could find, arrived before their estimate, and works just as Belkin advertised.

Perfect for travelling
Whether you travel frequently due to work, like to travel for vacations or get-aways, or you work or study away from home frequently this product is well worth the money. How many times have you visited someplace and run out of outlets? This product may not solve all problems but it will most. I take my laptop with me most places and sometimes find there are not enough outlets. This has come in handy on multiple occasions since it adds two additional outlets. This allows me to charge my laptop, phone, and one other electronic device such as a tablet, alarm clock, or anything else. Even if you do not travel I have found this product is handy when visiting friends. I use it to increase the number of outlets at friends so they do not have to unplug something to accommodate me. A second reason I like this product is that it functions as a surge protector, protecting your devices while you are on the go.
Have bought eight of them over the years...AWESOME
I bought one for myself...when they first came out. Then I bought another one...to travel with. Then I left that one in a Starbucks...so I gave it to another (gift). Someone asked me where I got mine, so I bought him one, too. Then I bought two more...just in case (I leave another one somewhere else...like another Starbucks). Then, recently I bought three more for friends that wanted them...so I have gifted some, again. The only thing that I wish they had was an ability to charge iPads...but you cannot have everything in life.
Works well
I bought this to use at school and for traveling. It's portable and works well. I like the usb ports so I can change my phone and several items without it having to be longer to accommodate more plugs. The price is very reasonable also. I'm happy with it.
Easy to use and convenient.
Does what's expected
A good little item for the home or travel. Really like the dual USB ports as I have several items that need charged and can do them all between the USB and plugs. Was great when traveling on a ship that only had one outlet. Item is a bite bigger than it looks so depending on your outlet orientation it may block both outlets.
Good adapter for price but be weary!
The adapter itself is quite bulky for starters. There is a button on the back you can push that allows you to change which way the adapters power prongs go which makes up for the bulkyness. It is also a surge protector so that fact also plays as a bonus. My main issue with this adapter is that although the usb claims to push 1A this is certainly not the case. Any smart phone Ive plugged up immediatly goes into a "slow charge" mode and if both usb ports are used the power is split in half instead of each port maintaining its own full current which to me makes the usb ports useless really. Be especially weary if you plan on getting this in store as its 3 times the price. If you were looking for an ez way to add available socks to an area while also adding some surge protection this is a great unit. If your were hoping to uncrowd a set of sockets always ridden with phone chargers by supplementing this units usb ports as alternative phone chargers then you will be sadly disappointed.
USB feature not useful...
I bought this charger solely based upon the advertised ability to use it to charge devices thru its USB ports. Well, it turns out that the output on the USB ports is not sufficient to charge most devices (my Blackberry and wife's Samsung phone and my Ipod). Other than that, the normal 120v outlets work great. So...if you are looking for a small power strip, this is fine, but, the USB power feature is useless for most charging applications.
off-market?
This came in a package that was not at all similar to the one I received from B & H. There was no information on Walmart's website about what the combined USB amp output on this model is. As it turns out, for this model, that is 1A, making it useless for charging an iPad. The 2.1A model is necessary for this.
Won't charge iPad
Seemed like a good buy, but after getting two of them I discovered they don't have enough power to charge an iPad. iPhones and iPods do fine, but if you need to charge your iPad this thing will not work. I believe there are other models that look identical that CAN charge ipads, but I only found this out after getting this one and reading its power output on the label. The website doesn't indicate this anywhere. Waste of money. :(
