Consistent results and hard to find at this price

The liquid pectin is easy to measure and produces consistent results when canning jelly. In our area, any canning supplies are hard to find and the Walmart price is by far the cheapest for this product.

The Only pectin for sure set Blackberry Jelly!

I have tons of blackberries and jelly (can't have the seeds) is the best way to preserve them. I tried using Sure Jell powdered Pectin last year; and several other brands of powdered pectin and the other brand liquid pectin, and never could get the jelly to set! I used double the amount of pectin and still just runny jelly, so this year I tried the Ball Liquid Pectin and followed the instructions to the letter in the Ball's 'Fresh Preserving" Canning book and my Jelly has been WONDERFUL! Nice firm sets in every batch. I am not talking small batches either, because I have LOTS of blackberries, I am using double and triple batch sizes and still flawless sets! If folks are having trouble with this product, as I've read, they are not following the instructions! I do one thing not in the instructions, I got from a recipe... I add 1/2 teaspoon of REAL Butter to each batch to keep it from foaming during the cooking of the Jelly. It works very well! If you have trouble with product get you a Ball Fresh Preserving Manual and follow the recipes to the letter. If the recipe calls for Liquid Pectin use liquid, but if it calls for powdered pectin, then use the powdered! If you use a liquid pectin in a recipe that calls for powdered, and it doesn't set, that's ON YOU! Powder and Liquid pectins work differently enough that it takes practice to interchange them.
