A few days to get it assembled, but cooks great

I ordered this grill online, and picked it up in store. I took it home, laid what seemed like 1000 parts out on my living room floor and started assembling. It took me an hour to get to step 8 in the instructions which was to put on the side plates. One seemed like it wasn't lined up correctly and the other wouldn't go on at all. The problem was that the backplate was stamped wrong and the built in nuts were not lining up where they should be. This was on a Friday evening so my call to Blue Rhino was after hours and no one answered. Monday morning I called Blue Rhino and they were very helpful. I told them the part that was wrong and they agreed to send me a new one. Two days later I had a grill! It took another hour or so to complete the assembly and get it moved to its new home out in my yard. I've only had a chance to cook with charcoal side, and have had no problem reaching 450-500 degrees on the built in thermometer (grilling steak, burgers, hotdogs, and chicken). I haven't had a chance to use the propane side. I cover the grill with a 65" cover also purchased at walmart. It looks like it might attract rust but I'll update in the future with any concerns.

    Three places to BBQ

Love it! Don't love that it was a returned grill; it has many dents and bags holding parts were opened. Would take it back except it took my husband 4 hours to put together ( no parts are labeled)

Best of both worlds and inexpensive

Small problems with assembly, but these were user errors. lol However, the directions are a little less than perfect. Lot of room when both sides in use. Would be really cool if a company figured out how to make a charcoal/propane grill over the same grilling area. That way you could use charcoal or propane and have whole grilling area. Propane very nice for quick grilling, but food tastes so good on the charcoal side. I do not really like the propane dials, because they do not seem to affect flame output much. I have been playing with partially closing the tank output to solve problem. Charcoal side very easy to clean out, but elevator likes to stick a bit. Love the removable trays for ash clean-up. Love the two side racks (when stovetop not in use). Lots of room for whats going on and coming off. Very sturdy. I was a little skeptical at store, because the floor model was a little wobbly. However, by building this myself I alleviated some concern for sturdiness. Someone said do not, but you should build this yourself if possible or have someone do it for you. Do not have someone from store assemble. It does not take long and if you cannot build it, then pay someone with a nice steak for a couple hours work. Overall, very nice grill. Bigger and better grills out there, but if your goal is to have the best of both worlds (propane and charcoal), this will definitely do it and probably at the best price. 5 stars if propane controls were a little more effective and charcoal elevator a little more fluid.
burgers, dogs, corn, shrimp....order up! lol

    Love LOVE this grill!

This is definitely my new favorite grill, will be using this frequently. I bought this grill for my fiancé as a Father's Day present. We just bought a house, moving from an apartment where grilling wasn't permitted so we were very excited to purchase this, and for such a great deal having both charcoal or gas as an option. Putting the grill together was definitely intimidating.. I've never seen so many pieces to put a grill together in my life. Once you get started though, it's not as difficult as it looks. His 16 year old daughter actually put the entire grill together with no troubles. The grill cooks great and looks great as well. Probably not a good grill for beginners but with a little experience you can really use the grill's full potential.

Great pit for your yard / please buy it assembled

I wanted this grill because it's the best of both worlds. Just the feeling of cooking outside but not having to waste charcoal sometimes is great. The side burner helps for the pre boiling to make sure the food is cooked to perfection. Also the man I am wouldn't allow anyone else to build it. Please don't be like me. Just let them assemble the grill for free. I do HVAC for a living and it took me 3 hours in a garage. They provide tools but you won't use them unless you have no other choice
