Wow! I am absolutely in love with this tool set. Of course my husband likes it. But, ladies, if you're handy, you need this. I put together all kinds of furniture, diy projects, home upgrades, and such. This is perfect for all of those things. You're going to be happy with the hand sander, for sure. Although it may be small, the hand sander tool is just right for those used furniture remodels. We just sanded a chair I've had sitting in the garage, and it worked like a charm! It was small enough to fit into those detailed crevices and nooks. You won't be disappointed. My favorite part of the entire kit is the drill. 20v!!!!! The one I have is only 18v. Let's just say, it has some serious power. It definitely takes less effort to drill into solid wood than my other drill. I've never had a Black and Decker. So, I'm not sure about longevity. But, so far, so good. We love it!

Cordless is always a winner!
Anything cordless is a benefit. Being able to move about and work without having to drag a cord or find an outlet is a blessing. Black and Decker makes good tools, that's well-known. I have a few of them so the batteries that swap from tool to tool is very much appreciated.
I have this same drill in 18v and was satisfied with that one but I was pleased with the upgrade to the 20v since the batteries are much lighter, smaller, and charge faster. The tools handle my projects without a problem. I am currently assembling a large desk with a whole lot of pieces so this drill is getting a good workout. I have NO complaints at all and it sure is helping with my project.
The 2 batteries were fully charged right out of the box (well, out of the clamshell packaging... horrible stuff, until I learned about opening it with a can opener...) and I was able to try it out right away. Depending on how much you plan to use this, there is a trickle charger included which will be fine for me. I do own a rapid charger for my other batteries and I'd recommend one for any tool you are using repeatedly or for a long time if you don't have multiple batteries.
Very user friendly
I am reviewing the BLACK and DECKER™ LD120-2WM 20V MAX Lithium Cordless Drill with two batteries. I received this product for free in order to give my unbiased opinion. The drill comes in a sturdy plastic packaging, and will require a bit of effort to free it. It comes with the drill, 2 lithium-ion batteries, a charger, and a bit tip that has a phillips screwdriver on one end, and a flat head screwdriver on the other, plus an owner's manual. The screwdriver bit is attached to a very snug snap in groove on the back of the handle. It feels very sturdy.
The trigger is the variable speed control, and the chuck is easy to use, no separate tool needed, and the torque dial is also easily adjustable.
The batteries were partially charged already, straight out of the packaging, and ready to use. The batteries are extremely easy to change, just slide it into place and listen for the click. Removal is simple, just depress the orange lever on the front, and slide out. In order to recharge, the battery must be free of the drill. Simply slide the charger in it, and plug into an outlet. A green light flashes to let you know it is charging, and will remain on and unflashing when charging is full.
It has a button to slide mid-way so it doesn't accidentally turn on if you have to lay it down. The drill itself is relatively quiet, compared to other drills I have used in the past. It's even quieter than my hair dryer.
I am extremely happy with this product.
Great Drill for a beginner
This compact cordless drill comes with not one battery but two. That was a real plus for me. The batteries are 20 volt Lithium Ion. These are high quality somewhat expensive batteries. It is like buying the batteries and getting the drill for free. Black and Decker brand name is very well known for their high quality very well made products. It is compact and very light weight. It only weights 4.12 lbs. Included in this package is a drill/driver, a charger, two batteries and a bit tip. The batteries can take up to three to four hours to charge. Mine took three hours the first time. The charge for each battery can take up to 18 months. I haven't had it that long so I can't testify to that. You know when the battery is charging is when the green light is blinking. It is fully charged when the green light is continuous. The bit tip is double ended. It is a Philip's tip and a Flat tip. There is a special storage space on the back of the drill above the battery that holds the bit. It holds it very tightly so you know you will not lose it. It comes with a 3/8" keyless chuck. I don't know if using a keyless is a pro or con. I have never owned a drill before. This drill's clutch comes in 24 positions to keep from stripping and over driving screws. It comes with a switch to move forward or reverse. Put it in the center position and it is will turn it off. The drill turns 750 revolutions per minute. This drill is for big and little jobs. I am into crafts and that is what I will be using it for in my home. I"m 58 years old and never used a drill before in my life. This drill is very easy to use. I found a small piece of wood laying around the house just to test it out and I was able to drill a hole in it all by myself. It went in very smoothly. It is not heavy and not too large. This drill is for men and women. Please don't forget about goggles and maybe gloves. I recommend this drill to everyone.
Great Set in a Easy to Store Case
This drill and sander set is a great combo in a nice storage/carrying case! The drill is a perfect size and fairly light weight. Charging is easy with a small cord plug-in, no bulky battery mount. It comes with several drill sizes, several sanding pads and a two-headed screwdriver piece that's conveniently mounted to the base of the drill. I'm very excited to have this handy set.
Great for home projects
First thing I did was charge both batteries. The batteries took about 4 hours each to charge. There is a light on the charger to indicate when the charge is complete. The battery pack was easy to insert in the bottom of the handle and snap into place. The drill came with a screwdriver that is Phillips head on one end and flat on the other end and is stored in the drill handle. The drill does not have a key to tighten the bit. The collar around the bit rotates to tighten. I tried both Phillips and flat screws. At first, I could not keep the drill bit on the screws. Then I adjusted the torque (another rotating collar) until I got the right amount. Forward and backward motion did a good job screwing into a standard 2X4. I tried two drill bits I had (1/16 and 1/4) and increased the torque for drilling. The torque collar has numbers with pictures of a screw at one end and a drill bit at the opposite end. I increased the torque for the drill bits and the drill was strong enough to create clean holes in the 2X4. The drill did not lose power or get hung up during the screwing or drilling. The drill is lightweight and fairly small (approximately 8” tall and 8” wide with the battery pack and excluding the bit). I saw no safety concerns while using it. I did not see a lock on the drill to keep someone from starting accidentally, but the battery is easy to take out as a safety “locking” feature. I think this drill would be excellent for crafts and DIY home projects.
Nice little drill
The Black and Decker 20 volt drill with 2 batteries is a great little household drill , it’s not to big to handle but is just the right size for any small project and having a second battery means you will be able to finish the project you started,it comes with 2 batteries and a battery charger but no drill bits but I have all kinds so it didn’t matter , before you use it the first time let both batteries fully charge then find your project and get started, now I keep saying small projects because I don’t think it would be powerful enough for really big ones, for example if you wanted to drill into brick or concrete you would probably be disappointed, I didn’t try that, but working in wood seems great , it would make a good Christmas gift for that person in your life who like diy projects or for oneself, it really is a nice little drill , it’s not real expensive but worth it’s cost.
Well Made, easy to use
Being an avid do-it-yourselfer I am always looking for tools to make my job easier. When I saw this and realized it was a 20 Volt Tool I decided to give it a try. I am quite pleased that it is well balanced and is easy to control. I used it to drive some screws and to bore some holes and it performed well. I am also happy that it will stand upright on the battery when it is set down, it makes it easier to grab and pick up when your working. The only con I have found is that it does take a very long time to charge the battery. It is a plus having 2 batteries. I don't have to stop and wait for a battery to charge when I am working. I also like that the speed is controlled with the trigger. This is a nice drill driver for anyone who needs some dependable help on the job.
Surprisingly good Drill
I like the weight and power of this drill. Not too big and bulky for a woman's hand, but all the power a man would want. But don't feel like you can use it for loosening lug nuts..that's just a bridge too far. However, this is really all that you'll need around the house for odd jobs.
It lasts over half an hour on continuous use, but it does get a little bit warm. I like that the battery holds a charge for awhile. It was time for me to switch to Lithium from NiCad. I'm really happy that I did, especially since I got 2 batteries with this drill. It makes doing a longer job easier without having to stop and recharge.
It's easy to use and since I have a few other B&D items that I have been pleased with, and have had them for awhile, I'm confident this drill will last also.
This is a great small and powerful drill, wonderful for light duty home tasks. Just realize that if use this everyday for you job, this one isn't going to do it for you.
Decent drill, just not powerful.
I am a DIY-er. I am always looking for a better tool to get my projects completed. I recently loaned my favorite drill and did not get it back in good shape. When this Black & Decker drill became available, I jumped at the chance to replace my now unusable old fav. Unfortunately, this drill doesn't begin to compare with mine. For one thing, it isn't as powerful. Sadly, it really is only a step up from a battery operated screwdriver. To the uninitiated, this means it does a fair job on light duties. Like for instance you want to hang a wall lamp in your living room. You have drywall. You need to install a molly through the drywall, and then screw in a hanging hook. This drill worked just fine for that job. My next test was to take it up on the roof and install my new antenna pole with a 3 legged tripod stand. That meant I needed to drill holes through my roof shingles, plywood and into the rafters. I couldn't do that with this drill. It did not have the power to go through that much wood. Not to mention, the battery did not hold up. I thought I needed to switch to the other included battery which I had fully charged. It helped a little, but this drill is unfortunately only going to be used for light duty.
