Anything cordless is a benefit. Being able to move about and work without having to drag a cord or find an outlet is a blessing. Black and Decker makes good tools, that's well-known. I have a few of them so the batteries that swap from tool to tool is very much appreciated. I have this same drill in 18v and was satisfied with that one but I was pleased with the upgrade to the 20v since the batteries are much lighter, smaller, and charge faster. The tools handle my projects without a problem. I am currently assembling a large desk with a whole lot of pieces so this drill is getting a good workout. I have NO complaints at all and it sure is helping with my project. The 2 batteries were fully charged right out of the box (well, out of the clamshell packaging... horrible stuff, until I learned about opening it with a can opener...) and I was able to try it out right away. Depending on how much you plan to use this, there is a trickle charger included which will be fine for me. I do own a rapid charger for my other batteries and I'd recommend one for any tool you are using repeatedly or for a long time if you don't have multiple batteries.
