Dainty but Powerful!
* Lightweight Design * Rotating Dirt-lifter Power brush - to remove deep down dirt * Collapsible handle - for easy storage * Removable nozzle - easy maintenance * Easy to fill & empty tanks - clean & dirty tanks are separate * Edge Sweep brushes - cleans around baseboards & furniture Compared to our older model, this new Bissell PowerForce PowerBrush Carpet Cleaner is about half the size and weight. But it cleans just as well without having to fight to move the machine around or worry about it leaking all over the carpet. This new cleaner is also much easier to fill and replace the clean tank, as well as a whole lot easier to empty the dirty tank. You just need to be sure and lift the dirty tank straight up without tipping it, or you will spill the dirty water! You can tell that it's doing it's job just by looking at how nasty the water is in the dirty tank, because it‘s see-through! Also, the small bottle of detergent included (2x Professional Deep Cleaning Formula) goes a long way. We did a small bedroom on just one tank fill-up. The box also came with a small bottle of stain pretreatment, but we didn't try that. It doesn't come with any attachments, but it really doesn't need any. The machine is slim enough to actually do the stairs with little to no trouble whatsoever. The nozzle or bottom of the machine is about 9 ¼” wide; my stairs are about 9 ¾”. For my house, this carpet cleaner is the perfect size.

Looks like a toy!
I really needed a new carpet clearner badly to replace my very old and heavy one. I couldn't wait for the carpet clearner to come. Well it came today. I thought the box was rather small and short for a carpet cleaner. A regular size one that is. To my surprise when I took it out of the box it looked like a toy! I'm not kidding. I've never seen such a small carpet cleaner in my life! The collection tank is only 9 1/2 inches wide. I expected a full size carpet cleaner. I didn't even know any company made them that small! It wasn't hard to put it together. Included in box was an 8 oz pretreatment solution and an 8 oz 2X formula. I filled the solution tank up to the first line close to the top and then added the Bissell 2X formula to the second line. Since the formula is concentrated I didn 't have to add too much of it into the water. I'm guessing about two tablespoons. The instruction manual doesn't indicate what the capacity of the solution tank holds. I vacuumed and pretreated three areas that had small stains as instructed. My grandson Logan age 4 he's a big kid wanted to try out the carpet cleaner so I let him use it first. I didn't see any solution being sucked up. We tried it several more time pressing the trigger to release the solution and still the carpet felt dry. We took the machine apart and stared from scratch and put it back together again. There really isn't much to this machine. We tried it again and still the solution was not spraying out. My husband extended the handle because he's tall to test the carpet clearner. When he did that the solution spayed as it was suppose to. So the handle for this carpet clearner needs to be extended in order for it to work properly. Who would have thought that could have been the problem! I shampooed the first area I pretreated. It did it not clean the spots at all. That was disappointing. I did the second section with the same results area didn't get cleaned still disappointed. Lastly I shampooed the bottom step of the stair case and the carpet on the step did get cleaned. So obviously it would depend on what type of stains you have. This carpet cleaner may be ok for a small area rug but definitely won't be able to get any carpet clean larger then that. The noise was as loud as a normal size carpet cleaner. I would not recommend this machine at all.

Love the price and the quality!

My husband and I moved into a new apartment, brand new carpet included, with two cats and a dog. One cat got pregnant and BAM six kittens! Between having company over, pet accidents, and kittens trying to litter train before going to new homes, my carpet became filthy! Its a shag, light brown carpet that turned dark grey/black next to my front door and kitchen for months and had disgusting kitten stains against the walls that have been there for weeks. We finally decided to buy a carpet cleaner so I can get off of my hands and knees and stop scrubbing without results. I heard great things about this product from other reviews and my local WalMart had them in stock so I decided to try it out since it was the cheapest and I could always just return it if it didn't work right? Yesterday I pushed aside all my furniture and started by the kitchen where it was black and kitten stained HORRIBLY! It took me about an hour and a half to really scrub the 10'X20' area (after pre-treating with the pet odor eliminator) and while I was cleaning I was amazed by the kitten stains disappearing but scared because it didn't look like the black was coming out all the way. My husband told me not to fret and to come back in an hour or two to see what it looked like dry. Low and behold it looks fantastic! It looks brand new! All the dark spots are gone and it smells amazing too. All my hard work finally paid off and I'm so glad I'm not embarrassed by my carpets anymore. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE! The water tank is really small. I had to change the solution/water mixture about eight times but it's not too hard just to fill it back up and to dump the dirty water out (and I went over each stroke about 3-6 times with the solution, not just once or twice). Plus it gave me a break from cleaning for a minute or two. So needless to say this is the best idea I ever had and I'm so glad I gave it a shot. Looks like I didn't need to pay hundreds of dollars to get clean carpets :) I would recommend this to anyone with pets since we all know they have accidents and NO ONE wants to have their home smell like that or to anyone with regular traffic zones. It cleans it all.

Great Carpet Cleaner!

This is a nice little carpet cleaner. It's approximately the size of a regular vacuum cleaner. There are two foot pedals, the grey one releases the top part of the machine for use and the red one is the power button. There is a trigger in the handle to use the cleaning solution. The cleaning solution (water and the Bissell carpet solution) tank is on the back of the machine. The front has the collection tank for the dirty solution. The electric cord is a good length, just like your vacuum cleaner has. The handle can be retracted for storage. The nozzle is removable for cleaning. And the filter can be removed as well for cleaning. It came in two separate pieces, the upper body and the lower body. This was fairly easy to assemble. The carpet cleaner was easy to use. The tank fills easily and attaches to the machine easily. There are clips on the sides on the collection tank for easy removal and emptying. It is kind of loud, like a vacuum, but no louder. I found it very easy to use and I think it did a good job. It came with a small bottle of cleaning solution and also a small bottle of pretreat/stain remover. The stain remover came with a sprayer nozzle. Bissell is a very good brand and reliable. I would recommend this carpet cleaner.

Bissell Powerforce Powerbrush Carpet Cleaner

I'm doing a review of the I'm doing a review of the Bissell Powerforce Powerbrush Carpet Cleaner. I could not get it to work at first and then I discovered when you screw the body in place it must not show any gaps on the sides. You have to hold it down tight when you put the two screws in place. That was my fault. The cleaner is very light weight which makes it easy to pull and push. It is smaller than most that I have seen. It has a nine inch width span. So it will take longer to do the job than most other carpet cleaners. For some people that may be a con to them. But then again it is so lightweight that I really don't mind the extra strokes. I have a bad back so that helps me a lot. I usually have to have someone help me finish the job. I now can do it all by myself. It is really a simple machine. Not much to clean it after using it. This one has a special feature. The nozzle on the front end of the cleaner picks up all the dirt and grime. This can be taken off real easy and can be cleaned. You run water through it after each use. Most other carpet cleaners that I have had did not have this. There were always gunk and stuff along the sides that you just can't get out. Thank goodness for this. You also can put the handle down for easy storage. I highly recommend this Carpet Cleaner. . It Gets the Job Done - Very Well

I must say I was completely surprised when the Bissell PowerForce PowerBrush Carpet Cleaner came to my door so soon. It was wrapped snugly in a medium sized box but when you got it unwrapped, it was fairly easy to assemble and was a normal sized carpet shampooer. The only thing you have to remember is that when you put the bottom and top of the body together, do so that it's snugly fit together. Don't leave a gap or you won't be able to fasten it with the long, thin screws which hold the unit together. These screws need a medium Phillip's head screw driver. The head or the cleaning part is a bit smaller than I expected, but it's perfect for a thorough cleaning of an area. In the package, there is a cleaning solution and also a spray pre-treat bottle for cleaning tough stains or spots on the carpet. Just spray it on and it's supposed to loosen the set dirt so the carpet cleaner can remove it more easily. The water tank was easy to remove, fill and return to the carpet cleaner. I had some ground in dirt in the front of a recliner where people sit down and their shoes aren't entirely clean at times. I tried to keep it clean by vacuuming it and using a spot remover on it, but the stain, which was probably about two feet long by a foot wide, just wouldn't budge. It got lighter, but the left over gray hue was always present. So I sprayed it with the pre-treat cleaner which came with the Bissell Carpet cleaner and waited for 15 minutes for it to start working. In the meantime, I started shampooing the carpet. I shampooed an area while using the water and cleaning solution mixture two times and then used the shampooer without engaging the lever for the liquid, to pull up the water. This left the carpet clean and almost dry. Fifteen minutes later I went back to my tough stop with the carpet shampooer to see how well the pre-treat worked on the very set-in stain. After I used the shampooer on the stain, using the wet then dry method several times, the stain was much lighter but, unfortunately a shadow of it was still there. It disappeared even more after the carpet was completely dry, but it is still ever so slightly visible. I do love the Bissell carpet shampooer over all. Our carpet is dry and wonderfully clean now. The pattern in the carpet is back to its original hue and the carpet is so soft it's a pleasure to walk on. I also cleaned some throw-rugs with the shampooer and it restored them to their original beauty. I tried to clean one throw rug I have in front of my stove in the kitchen. This little rug has a thick foam backing and a thin rooster pattern glued to the top. It was so dirty and greasy I had to try something to clean it even if it would get destroyed. I ran the Bissell shampooer over it gently and it turned beautifully clean. It, too, got back its original pattern and its brilliant colors were restored. Except for that one very difficult stain which mostly cleaned up nicely, this is a perfect rug cleaner and shampooer. It was a real pleasure to work with.

Perfect Household Carpet Cleaner

Bissell's Powerforce Powerbrush is perfect for our family of four. With twin toddlers there's always something to clean up. This deep cleaner is SO easy to use unlike some of the rental machines I've used over the years. It has a cool retractable handle so it fits really nicely into the closet. I cleaned the whole living room and hallway in one tank believe it or not. And the fact that the used water is in a clear container is nice so you can see how dirty the carpet is. With each dumping of the dirty water you can gradually see the used water becoming clearer. The machine is also lighter than the rentals so a lot of strength isn't needed to push it around the house. The brushes left the carpet nice and fluffed up and it didn't leave the carpet soaking wet which can happen with cheap cleaners that don't have the sucking power to get up all the water. All in all its a good little cleaner that's perfect for our little house.

Almost Perfect

Yes I was given this and am very happy with it. I will try to give you as good a reference as I can based on the machine that I have used. First the bad and then I will follow with the good features of the Bissell Carpet Cleaner. This isn't a commercial cleaner. The coverage is quite small and doing a huge room takes extra rows making it more work in a large area compared to a large model. My biggest complaint is the dirty water tank. Obviously when you are finished and have to dump the grime into the utility sink you'd like to be able to just dump straight into the sink. The design has you pouring the liquid out of a little hole on the back of the carpet cleaner. Water drips here and there. I found that to be a nuisance and you need to empty with care. Basically that was the only flaw I could find with this machine. As for what I liked about the Bissell Carpet Cleaner. Its light. If you don't like lugging heavy machines this would be for you. At 14 lbs. its about half what a regular sized cleaner would weigh. Picking it up and maneuvering the cleaner is very smooth. I was very happy with that feature. The Carpet cleaner is professionally made. The power cord is strong and sturdy. Well made and fairly long. The on off switches and the water release valve are well made and you'll be happy with those. Easy to turn on and off. Just the press with your foot turns the Bissell Carpet cleaner on. You can maneuver into smaller areas which you normally cannot with a bigger machine. It was a nice change to be able to reach areas that I normally couldn't with a commercial type carpet cleaner. The scrubbing action works very well. High powered and cleans extremely well. I was happy about the way the machine cleaned my carpet. Cleaned as good as any industrial machine would. The brushes are well made. The switches, cords, parts are all Bissell quality and highly recommended. Packaging was nice, Assembly was very easy, Instructions easy to follow, Came with a spot removal bottle and a carpet cleaner about 8 oz. Excellent soap to. Other household members were happy with that. Conclusion: A small lightweight carpet cleaner that cleans like an industrial machine that is much quieter, lighter and less expensive. One fault being a better pour spout on the dirty water container. Would recommend.

BISSELL POWERFORCE - ALMOST FULL MARKS!

Easy to assemble and especially easy to use. Good instructions and it was a quick way to "power wash" our carpets. Three BIG things to remember: 1. Vacuum your carpets first. You don't want to be scrubbing in dirt! 2. Pre-treat any existing stains. Bissell includes a Pro Grade 3x concentrate with a handy spray nozzle. I learned that lesson pretty quickly!! 3. Don't overwet. It has excellent "pulling" action and you can see the amount of dirty water it was suctioning up. Another plus - our carpets were then fast to dry. The Bissell does a very good job.. see photos.. and in the end, all the stains came out. I didn't need a full bottle of cleaning solution and H2O so I mixed 1/4 oz. of concentrate with 16 oz. of hot tap water. It was just enough to cover my sitting room and part of my corridor. If I needed more it would have been easy to mix up another "batch". The only thing I would change is to make it easier to rinse out and dry the bottom tank. All the nook and crannies collected a fair bit of carpet fluff along with the dirty water. It took several tries to wash out the clear plastic container and then leaving the inside to air-dry. The drying actually took longer than our carpets! That and the hard-to-rinse tank is why I only gave it 4 1/2 stars!

Easy to use and light weight

The Bissell Power Force Power Brush Carpet Cleaner is pretty good. It is easy to use and it got most of the dirt out of my carpet. I had to go over my carpet two times but my carpet was dirty from kids eating and spilling drinks on it. It did get the kool aid out though. I was worried that it was not coming out but it did. It is light weight so it is easy to pick up. Even though it is light weight, it is powerful. The only thing this carpet cleaner is missing is a hose. I can not clean my furniture or the carpet in my vehicles. Other than that, it is a good cleaner. Having four dogs in the house, there is always a need to clean carpets. They always bring mud and grass inside and have also gotten sick and threw up. It does pick up dog hair easily off of the carpet. I have also used it in my camper. Worked great getting dirt and sand out. I like that the handle lowers. It does not fold down but it is like a telescoping handle. That makes it easy for small storage places. I would definately recommend this Bissell Power Force carpet claener to friends and family that need a descend cleaner. I will also be looking into a Bissell cleaner that is for furniture and that is also portable. Just wish this one had it all so that I would not have to purchase additional equipment. I would give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars only because it does not have a hose.

Cleans Like A Pro

I received my Bissell Power Force Power Brush Carpet Cleaner to review. I can say I was surprised and very happy to see how easy it was to assemble. You put in two screws and then pull out the adjustable handle and you are ready to go! I assembled the carpet cleaner and was ready to clean some carpets. It included in the box a bottle of professional carpet shampoo. I loved the fact that the shampoo had scotchgard in it. That will help keep the carpets clean. It also included a spray bottle of stain pretreater to loosen those hard to clean stains and it also helps lift any odors in carpets. Thats great for pet owners. So I got to work cleaning carpets. The pretreater lifted mud stains and makeup that had been dropped on the carpet. Everybody knows how makeup stains everything! It really cleaned the high traffic areas in my home. The machine is lightweight so it was easy to use. The dirt lifter brush really did its job.I would never buy a shampooer without the dirt lifter brush. It also had the little brushes on the sides to clean edges. That was great. The tank was easy to fill and the bottom tank that holds the dirty water was easy to remove and empty. Both tanks can be easily rinsed out. The handle collapses to make storing easier. I gave this Bissell shampooer 4 stars. The only issues I had with this shampooer is the clips on the side that hold the bottom tank on kept coming unlatched.I had to latch them 3 times in one hour. Also the water tank that holds the clean water was kind of hard to get a grip on so I could remove it to refill. The indents need something on it to make it easier to hold onto. But all in all I really liked this shampooer from Bissell. It did its job and I would be happy to recommend it to anyone.

1. There are too many factors in this question. The type of pet, the type of stain, urine, feces, vomit, etc., the type of shampoo you are using, how long the stain has been left to set in, how large in area the stain is. Most pet-stain removing products that "guarantee" odor neutralization or complete removal are just gimmicks and they don't work. For deep, set-in stains that have dried and were not pre-treated, I highly recommend that you hire a professional service to come into your home and remove the stain according the the circumstances of it. But regardless, the sooner you can get the pet stain up, even if it's only partially coming out, the easier the final result in exhausted removal attempts will be and less permanent damage to the carpet. My preference is a specialty shampoo that is oxygen fortified/boosted and a machine that will permit scalding hot water in the solution container. Let it sit on the stain for several minutes before extracting it back out.

2. It did remove pet stains when it worked the first two times of usage. But when the sprayer stopped working on the third time of usage, NO it did not remove the pet stains!

4. Yes! I have a 70 pound dog who likes to pretend she's not house-trained when she gets upset. I cleaned up both types of messes as best I could with spot cleaners and towels but there were still obvious stains. I made sure to run over each stain 2 or 3 times with this cleaner just to be sure and the beige carpet looks nearly new. I hope this helps.
