Great for needle and lancet disposal

I use the large 8.2 quart Sharps container for my insulin pens and I use this one to dispose of my pen needles and lancets. There is a place where you put in the pen and the needs will unscrew and fall into the container. I bought this product at my local Walmart, but I had to order the larger container online. I use this one for my needles so my larger container lasts longer. My larger container stores my pens only. A great dual system. It is really nice that you can unscrew the needle without every having to touch the needle. Very slick.

BD Home Sharps Container

Perfect size. I have always used these as long as I can remember.

BD, Home Sharps Container

Nice size, good solid product. Great price. Will buy again!

Very good product.

This is a very good product which I have been looking for

Well up to the intended task

Since this is the only brand my local Walmart carries, I have no basis for comparison, but I can say that I use both insulin syringes and pens, and I don't have to worry about them poking through the thick plastic. The ability to remove the pen needles using the special hole in the top is a big plus. The lid snaps on securely and apparently permanently when it's full.

1. Trash it and start a new one. I use plastic bleach or detergent bottles and use a permanent magic marker to label it with skulls and cross bones and the word "sharps." Those bottles are tough and secure and you don't have to buy them.

2. Close the locking seal. You can take the container to a hazardous waste round-up in your community--they will even give you a new (and larger) sharps container. Also, most cities have drop off bins for outdated medication and sharps containers, usually at hospitals or at certain law-enforcement stations. In my county, the local Sheriff''s stations have large bins outside the station.
