I was so excited about my purchase initially, the sound quality was good for the price and it was easy to use. I've used this product about an hour per week over the 1year I've owned it and it is no longer working. It can't seem to get up to speed and the needle can't figure out the proper place to touch down on the record(that occurred 6months into use but could be rectified manually). I figure paying for repair and the hassle of returning it isn't worth it. Another product for the landfill.

This turntable makes my old records sound really good. I still havent hooked it to the computer to try that out but works great with my old amp and speakers....

Excellent Product for the Price.

I had a bit of a problem on my first try: the Audacity 1.2 software kept losing my files! At the Audacity website I found a new version (1.3 Beta) which solved the problem. I have now copied approx. 50 LPs and burned them to CDs with literally no problems. The quality of the sound on the new Cds is as good or better than that on the LPs! Turntable works great, and with the newer software, couldn't ask for a better product.

Excellent quality for reasonable price

Connected to my system used in large churches and auditoriums the sound reproduction is second to none. No compatability issues with my mixer and no noise issues through the main amp. Easy to set up - plug and play. I would highly recommend this for a home audio buff that has old records stashed away to revive the songs of yesteryear and a lot of good memories. Good quality, good reproduction and good price.

Great Record Player for Old and New Records

I bought this as my first record player. I have a fairly large collection with old scratched up records from Vera Lynn and Nat King Cole, through the 60's through to 2014! Everything from singles and cheaply made records to 180gram records all work and sound great! My recent favorites inlcuding Daft Punk sound absolutely incredible. This record player is easy to use, extremely reliable and sounds excellent. I highly recommend it.

Pretty good product as a first turntable

I'm an audio technical engineer, so I'm quite picky on sound quality, but also on a budget ;) This table is pretty good overall, like it's impressive! I've been using mine for 3 years now and it still plays great. I had to dowload an RPM app on my phone to calibrate the speed twice but it's easy to do. There is a screw under the table, so you place your phone on it, it displays the amount of RPM you got and you adjust your screw until you get it perfect. If you are looking for the best for less, this is it without a doubt. For the output level, it is very low. I have to push my amplifier pretty high to play it. But the sound clarity is great and I listen to djent, hardcore and brutal stuff. The bass, the highs , all sounds better than the 320kps version of songs played directly from my pc into the same amplifier via an optical fiber. I tried buying a pre-amp to put in-between but it detoriated the sound so I'd rather just crank up the old amplifier until I can get a good pre-amp. To summarize: If it breaks tomorrow, I'm getting the same thing again!

Found this Turntable to be very good. Like the fact that it comes with a variety of connector cables. Would have liked the control buttons to be on the top of the unit, under the dust cover, instead of on the front. Would have also liked to see a "Rubber" turntable mat instead of the felt. The mat wants to stick to an LP that's being removed. Static Electricty?

For what this is, AT has done a really good job with design

First things first -- the users in these reviews claiming that they were getting bad sound and/or distortion most likely had the phono preamp switch set incorrectly. If you are plugging into an input marked "phono" on your receiver, make sure the switch on the back of the unit is set to "phono" as well. If everything is set up correctly, the unit will sound as it should. My advice would be to ignore those reviews. I am a turntable repair person, so I have a different perspective than most users. For the purpose of performing its function relatively well and meeting a price point, the AT-LP60 is a remarkable feat of industrial engineering. It's certainly not a "great" turntable performance-wise and it's made of plastic and thin metal and has an inexpensive motor, so I would not expect these to last a long time. But as a starter deck, one could do a lot worse. I've had a few come through the shop. One had an issue with the auto-stop linkage sticking and creating skipping halfway through a side. This was fixed by cleaning and re-setting the linkage. I had another one that had a frozen platter bearing. That would be a QC issue from the factory. As luck would have it, I had a compatible bearing assembly and was able to repair it for the customer. I've had several with pitch issues, but these are easily remedied by adjusting the controls with a jeweler's screwdriver and a strobe disc. I would contrast this with some other cheaper models I've seen, including the Sony PS-LX250 and the mechanisms that are in the Crosleys and all of their clones. Those are far inferior to the AT-LP60 in terms of reliability. When those come in, they typically can't be fixed because something in the motor or the circuitry has died. The AT-LP60 is a safe bet for now, and that's due to good design principles.

Shoddy Product

Disappointing and frustrating experience. Turntable wouldn't even make it through the last track of ANY album without skipping, plus the Start/Start buttons worked only intermittently. Weak input volume using USB and Audacity software resulted in limited digital output volume. Returned for refund.

1. The AT-LP60 Turntable may be used with POWERED type speakers. The audio cable attached to the turntable is fitted with Red and White RCA type male plugs. We provide a dual RCA (female) to 3.5 mm (1/8") mini-plug (male) stereo adapter cable for use with speakers that have a single 3.5mm (1/8") stereo audio input jack instead of the Red and White RCA type female audio input jacks.

1. Yes, it has a Start button. It'll automatically place the needle on the record, play the entire thing, then it automatically lifts and stops on it's own.
