My husband bought this - he wanted to get away from teflon. After 2 weeks of frying a few things in it - eggs would not come out - they started sticking, badly. I took it back and exchanged for another. Here we are, 2 months later, trying desperately to make it last because, once again, everything is sticking and you better not even put eggs in it. Poor product, will never buy another - still looking for that idea to get away from teflon - but not in this company. Attaching a picture of what it looks like now after washing - the dark spots are where the food sticks http://www.walmart.com/ip/As-Seen-on-TV-12-OrGREENic-Porcelain-Ceramic-Fry-Pan-with-Helper-Handle/21295765

I purchased this pan with great expectations...but was greatly disappointed. I seasoned it just like the instructions said to do before the first use...but my food still stuck to the pan. I thought maybe it was just what I was cooking (pot pie filling with cheese#, so I tried it again. The stir-fry vegetables stuck to the pan. So I tried it AGAIN #I can't remember what I cooked)...and the food stuck to the pan! The food stuck just as bad as some of my old non-stick pans. I noticed that I was having a harder time cleaning it than my other pans too...which I thought was ridiculous! I took it back to the store and got a refund. It wasn't worth my time...especially after reading other reviews. Apparantly it gets worse the longer you have it! I decided to get a Lodge 12" cast iron skillet instead. I cooked spaghetti in it the first time using it and the meat didn't stick at all...unlike the supposedly "non-stick" Orgreenic pan. It was also $10 cheaper and will last a lifetime.

"Thought" it was the next greatest frying pan!

My wife brought this home and said this is the next greatest frying pan. With skepticism in my voice I said, "We'll see about that". Since I've managed to destroy every other frying pan that she has ever brought home in record time. All the other ones the non-stick wears off. But on this wonderful OrGREENic pan not only did everything stick, it warped on the FIRST use. My wife even seasoned it the way the instructions said. What a piece of garbage. When I read to find out how to get my thirty some dollars back on this garbage it says don't send it back to the store, send it to California to the factory. But don't forget to send a check with the item to cover shipping for your new pan. So I have to pay for shipping out to California and shipping back to me. After all that I have 3/4's of a new pan paid for. Thats CRAZY. To make a long story short. Do Not Buy This Pan, I have never made a review on a product before but this pan is so bad I had to warn people. Happy Frying!!

    Like a "cast" pan
    5/3/2013

When I got it home and started reading the materials I had to double check the paper work to make sure it was for this pan, it was. It read like the instructions for a cast iron pan and not like a "space age" non-stick coating. The pan says it works better if is it seasoned like "all professional cookware" however, only Cast Iron cookware requires "seasoning" (oiling the pan and baking it ON TO the surface to create a carbon coating. This is NOT what I thought I was buying and I did not expect to "season" a modern non-stick cooking surface without a good reason. It turns out this is a Ceramic pan (like one I saw for only $20.00) and if this is what is is required of ceramic cookware, I will see if I can justify the extra 20 dollars for this Green ware (which by reading the paperwork appears to be a rather old pan) If not, I will decide later what I will do with this pan, A cast iron pan certainly would have cost FAR less than this expensive piece of Aluminum.

Okay, first off this item is advertised that it can be used without having to use any butter, oils to keep foods from sticking. I assure you this isn't the case. It only applies whe. You are cooking something that may require a "little liquid" to the recipe. If you are cooking something dry, lije a boneless chicken breast, you will have to coat the pan. BUT with that being said, it only requires a very little butter/oil unlike most other skillets. I would also like to state this is by far the best nonstick skillet by far (compared to other high and low end nonstick brands.) Treat it like you would/should treat a iron skillet and you will be pleased with the results. This is my 2nd skillet of this particular one (bought this one for a family member.) My 1st one was bought over 1 1/2 years ago, I use it as my main skillet and it still works pretty well as a nonstick skillet. But I treat it like a iron skillet in the since of not using soap to clean it. I use warm/hot water to clean it and "season" it once every 6 months.

    • A. It did not come with a lid, buy it seperatley or go outside the box in thought process and purchase a decent splatter screen, I have them and the lid and use the screen the most. Handles on lids will get hot and need a pot holder, that is the only draw back other than draining purposes.

    • A. They recommend seasoning for best performance, but it did not say it was required. I intend to see how it works WITHOUT seasoning as this is a home, Summer is coming and the temps are rising, but the A/C has not been turned on yet since the furnace may still need to run overnight. Seasoning I have done (and as they have recommended requires oil and a lotta heat (I usually go 350-400, but they say 300 for an hour - I guess there are a lot of ways to skin a raccoon)

    • A. Yes. Use plain vegetable oil (not canola, olive, or other specialty type). Follow the seasoning directions exactly, remembering not to use soap at any time after seasoning. If you do, re-season.

    • A. Yes it needs to be seasoned. It is easy just rub inside on skillet with a thin coat of cooking oil and bake in the oven for 1 hour. All instructions for seasoning come with the skillet.

    • A. All they mean by "seasoning" the pan is covering the bottom with vegetable oil and heating it up until just before smoking. It explains it in the directions exactly how to do it so you can get the full nonstick performance of the pan. I have a 10" orgreenic and followed these directions and the pan works great. I don't know if it would work any different if you DON'T season the pan, but to me it was worth following the directions. Hope this helps.
