Chin up bar
Measure door before you buy it. My bedroom door is 48" w and this only works on doorway widths of up to 36" wide.

do not waste your money
it is to small for every door in my house. it came with a card in the package to order an extened bar but the company does not make one for this type of pull up bar.

Very well made and designed.

This is a tough unit. Only suggestion I have for it is this... you need to reinforce your door frame trim for this. The limit for this unit is 300 pounds, which that is no issue. The issue you will face, you must reinforce your door frame you intend to work with. You have to realize that it sits on the finish moulding above a door.... that is never installed in a heavy duty way to hold your weight. I highly recommend that you add, with extra screws, a 1x1 piece of wood above your door trim and add more screws to hold it in place. It's for you own safety and the sake of your home's trim work. Outside of that, installed properly, you will have no issues with this unit.

great little tools to keep fit

I have not had chance to go to GYM so I bought this to do quick work out to keep my muscles in shape. This will provide chest, arms, back, abs in shape, this will not provide all the fitness. And this is not for beginners unless you can do min 8 pull ups comfortably, otherwise it wouldn't do you any good. Assembly is easy (10 min or less), and quick to put on the entry way and take off to do push ups. I would recommend using chair to dip instead of this since you will not get a full motion. Also, get a extra padding or sponge between trim and padded bar that touchs the trim. with all that weight it will mar the trim. this had special offer for ab sling but you have to mail it in with shipping charge of $9, I would forgo this and use your arm strength to do the knee raises or leg lifts, that will help with your arm strength wild working tummy in more efficient way.

Great starter pull-up bar

After reviewing many others comments and comparing with other models, I ordered this bar. It arrived in time and easy to set up. Only thing I do not like was the up holding bar-the plastic bar was narrow and short, it caused cracks on the well after first use since my well at home was weak. I went to Lowe's and bought two L-shaped (1/2X3/4X36") metal pieces, then glued them together to use as an extra stabilizer on the door frame. It worked great. No more cracks on the well since.

Perfect

I looked at several similar products, but this one is the best because: 1) NO mounting hardware required 2) versatile hand placements allow to work many different muscle groups for the pull-up. 3) and allows for push-up, and dips to work the triceps 4) special bonus support placement options for hanging clothes! :-)

Great workout home gym for upper body

Happy with this pull-up bar. Product came well packaged. Assembly was not too hard. After first assembly attempt, I found the assembled bar was skewed so I dismantled it and switched the smaller bars from one side to another. That helped remove the skew. Feels sturdy on the wall for my 180 lbs frame. Sadly, the "free abs strap" are not really free. The S&H for this "free" product is $7.99 - almost twice the S&H for other items on the supplementary list. Appears to be excessively high. Overall a good product - go for it if you are within the recommended weight limits.

5. This doesn't touch the door at all. The door frame may get scuffed a little but nothing a little paint can't fix.
by An anonymous customer
6. I havent noticed how it would damage door except for maybe constant rubbing may cause paint wear, but that would b with n e similar product.

7. Hi, the chin up bar doesn't damage my door frame. The cushions on the side help protect the sides, and the top wooden bar sits snugly against the top of the door frame and it doesn't wiggle or anything, so it should be safe.
by An anonymous customer
8. No, it does not damage the door or frame in any way. It is braced against the top of the door and the inside frame. the only potential negative is that they reccommend that you take it down when not in use, in case it could fall down. but I leave mine up all the time.
by An anonymous customer
9. It may leave slight indentations in the wood.
by An anonymous customer
10. If you have trim around the door frame it will put some small dents in it and if you move it around much it will leave some scuff marks. This hasn't deterred me though. A little cleaning and touch up paint when I move out and no one will be the wiser.

11. It has not damaged mine nor my brother's door frames in any way. There is absolutely no drilling involved

1. No. Installs on the opposite side that the door opens.
by An anonymous customer
2. We did not.

3. nope all you do is take it out the box, put it together (it comes with whatever you need) and use it. remember to follow ALL instructions for safety! it gives you a little thingy you can slide in the door frame so that it doesn't slide around (safety measure). you won't have to do anything to your door frame to use this product.
by An anonymous customer
4. Not at all! But the instructions show you where to install it on the door, like you cannot install it on the side that the door opens.
by An anonymous customer
5. No modifications are required. It just slips over the existing molding.

6. Not at all.

7. No. It will only hang on one side of the door frame though due to the door/hinge.

8. No. The door just has to be open.

11. No, not at all. Stand on one side of the doorframe (we'll call it Side 1), holding the Iron Gym by the pullup handles - then lift it up and swing the straight black support bar throught the doorway and rest it on the top molding located on the other side of the doorframe (Side 2). Rest the handles against the molding/walls on Side 1 and ensure that the Iron Gym is centered and both handles extend past either side of the doorframe on Side 1. Test it by pulling down on the bar while standing without performing an actual pullup - just in case it is not secure.

1. This is removable in 4 seconds or less. In fact, the packaging suggests that you never leave it up.
by An anonymous customer
2. Easily put up or taken down in about 10 seconds on most door frames.
by An anonymous customer
3. it's not permanent which is awesome and you can put it up and remove it really easy, though it will dent the wood frame a little bit and make it where the black padding touches, but it's well worth it!
by An anonymous customer
4. In my opinion, I would say not that simple. special attention has to be observed on the nuts and bolts that are already attached during assembly. They my either cross thread on you or the bolt itself my tear into the bar.
by An anonymous customer
5. we take ours up and down and it is just fine. Just figure out where you will put it when it is down. We wrapped all three parts that come in contact with the frame to make sure it didn't mark up the moulding.
by An anonymous customer
6. easily taken down and put up. I do P90 X and on some workouts it is up and down every 3 minutes

7. My son removes it easily every night to close his door at bedtime
