I recently started playing Magic the Gathering, a trading card game, and have been looking all over for a good way to store all of my cards besides the cardboard boxes most game stores sell, because I want to protect my cards from moisture, too. The main problem I encountered was the amount of money that sellers wanted for a plastic storage box that might hold a few hundred cards or a couple of decks (60-75 cards per deck). So far, this box holds around 1500 cards and even divides them by color easily. I did have to cut the top storage compartment out and then I glued it back to the base, sans bottom/sides. The compartment prevents the cards from standing up properly, but if removed entirely the edging of the compartment leaves a gap between the lid and base which means it doesn't snap closed securely. In addition to having my cards divided by color, I even have room for several standard sized deck boxes (3 currently), a large deck box (1 right now), a double-deck box (1 currently), and even 2 of the large 20-sided dice fit neatly on top of each other without interfering with the lid. On top of all that, two play-mats stack/fold well without being in the way. The side boxes fit dice/counters perfectly. In one of the side compartments, I've cut away the dividers and it now holds 2-3 of the paper deck boxes (that come in fat-packs) with ease. All in all, I couldn't be happier with the product unless it already came modified, but it's well worth the price because now all my cards (and some are price-y individuals) are protected from all manner of damage.
I imagine that any kind of card storage would suit this box perfectly, but given how much I can fit into it, gamers of all sorts would probably do well to purchase this product. The top compartment is completely open, easily fitting just about any size paper needed and a good 1-2 inches of it at that, without getting in the way of anything that's in the bottom.
As I break it in and carry it to more tournaments, I'll probably post another review of how well it stands up to the abuse of being in my car's trunk and include pictures.
