This is my first iPad, so I can only comment on this and not compare to others. So far I love it. Hard to find the 2017 model. The screen optics are beautiful. The screen it’s self is not laminated, since I have not used another iPad, I’m not sure this makes a difference to a causal user. It accepts the Kindle app, so I can read all my books. I can use my Adonit Jot Mini stylus on it. I’m into art. Front camera passable at at 1.2 MP, back camera needs more testing, I haven’t had time to put it to the test, it’s 8 MP. Feels solid and well built. I bought this because 3 Samsung’s can’t put up with my many long hours daily, and go gunny bags on me. Numerous Kindles are also sitting dead, one still under warranty, they won’t honor. So I went with the best. No, not top of the line but a fine tuned machine, responsive and fast. Nice loud speakers, and it accepts my JBL Bluetooth mini clip 2 speaker as well as my Treblab Bluetooth earbuds. The one downside is Apple store is missing apps such as Instagram, or any fitness tracker apps such as Fitbit, a real disappointment. Apple store is missing many art apps I use, and charges for apps Google gives free. I pay for all my apps to avoid adds. It will take a while to find replacements. All in all, the best tablet I have owned. You really can’t go wrong here, the new 2018 model accepts the Apple pen, but at a cost of nearly $100.00 more, plus $100.00 more for the pen. Not worth it for the ability to use the Apple pen. A decent artist with a decent app can make compensations. I bought the 128 GB model. Well worth it.
