I really like this shoe. It fits well with socks and is very comfortable. I think I should have bought it a lot sooner because my knee feels much better. The old shoes I was wearing seem to be the cause of a lot of my knee pain. I like the way it looks and the mesh keeps my feet from getting too warm. I would definitely recommend this shoe.

Like walking on clouds!
I bought these to replace my old walking shoes but set them aside for a few days without really trying them out. Unexpectedly, a need for them arose--a one mile walk with a second grade class from school to the library and back. Hesitantly, I wore my new shoes, hoping they didn't need to be "broken in" first. These shoes were outstanding! It was like walking on clouds, and there was no pain, no pinching, no blistering. The mesh covering on the tops allows air to flow through, and on this cool day, it felt like luxurious shoe air conditioning. These shoes will definitely rejuvenate my walking routine!
Not your best Aetrex
I normally wear a 10W in an Aetrex. This particular sneaker, however, did not work for me. They felt alright when I put them on, but after a short time my feet got tingly. I removed one of the inserts, changed peds -- nothing worked. I will be returning them. I did, however, like the way they looked.
Have worn Aetrex walkers for years but first time I tried this particular style. A little more stylish than the walker but all the same great qualities--comfort and outstanding support. Previous foot injury requires that I wear a shoe with stability, no side to side movement of foot. I wear them 24-7, walk 2 miles daily for exercise and recently walked the BIX 7 nationally known race wearing Aetrex.
Womens 41/2 Extra Wide? No way!
There is no way I can believe I found this shoe! No one makes small shoes in Extra wide widths! My arthritis has made it very painful to walk and this is the answer to my prayers. My podiatrist just said "Good luck trying to find shoes." Nice huh? Thank you for offering me the chance to buy a shoe that fits and is therapeutic! And I thank the manufacturer.
Almost a Great Shoe
I have wide feet with a high instep and seem to have trouble finding a shoe that is wide enough in the toe area, not just the ball of the foot. This Apex runner is almost right. I had to order a half size larger than needed to get the width I need in the toe area. The shoe is soft and the heel is not too loose, which is often a problem. The tongues are overly padded which causes me to leave the shoes tied loosely. The arch support is good, but I like a more padded insole. I believe they will become more comfortable as I wear them more.
Very good shoe
I was very pleased with the Apex runner. I have bunions and I have plenty of toe room and the foot bed is well padded. I ordered a 7.5ww and it was just right. the only problem was a little chafing on the ankle as they have a bit of a high top. I have tried many shoes and these have done the best.
An Alternative for Supronation
It took 3 days to create my foot pattern in the shoe but it was time well spent. The comfort exceeded my expectations for standing and walking 10 hours a day. So far, the shoe shows very little indication of my feet rolling out (supronation). I have worn this shoe for about one month now. The style is perfectly true to size and the toe box is comfortable yet supportive. I have not attempted to run in this shoe yet, but that will come. After having lap-band surgery 18 months ago and a weight-loss of 95 pounds (originally 287 pounds), and a total left knee replacement, having a shoe that creates the correct stride has been invaluable. The color pattern could be a little more sporty. My true size is 8.5 but have always ordered one size larger due to variation in other shoes. I had to re-order the shoes but it was well worth the wait! Who knew a shoe was actually true to size!
