these are lifesavers for me. I went from having Achilles tendonitis to bursitis of the heel because of a bump that got inflamed in the back of my heel. I could barely walk and I was contemplating my upcoming vacation to Branson Missouri, being unable to walk. Then I got these :-). No one prescribed ankle braces, but I'm at a woman who had similar ones from an emergency room, and so I tried them. perfect! they fit inside my shoes and keep everything still and in place and I can walk with a huge amount of support now. Even with my recent trusty cane! they are difficult to put on and I wish the little ex on top pieces had some sort of coloring to distinguish them. when I take mine off I try to leave them mostly in place so that it kind of looks like a little boot. You have to undo the part that goes around the top of course, but so worth it!
