We got this monitor after our analog one died. I was so used to hearing static and every tiny anything that went on in my baby's room... This monitor is GREAT! It is completely silent until something "exciting" happens (in other words, it blocks out "regular" background noise). My daughter really loves the LED ring light on the top, too! It sort of DOES look like a little angel with that ring being the halo! :) The battery in the parent unit doesn't seem to last SUPER long. The battery graphic on the screen is divided into two parts, and it goes down to half-charged in under and hour... but then, the unit hasn't actually ever died on me, and I've probably had it off it's base for 3-4 hours before. The ONLY thing that kind of annoys me is the backlight on the parent unit... It's pretty dang bright and I like my bedroom to be dark when I sleep.

    Great Husband Monitor Too!

Bought this monitor when my husband came home from the hospital and we needed a bed downstairs until he was able to walk . I kept the "parent" monitor by my bed upstairs in case he needed anything during the night. Worked perfectly. Easy setup. No hassles. Clear transmission from a long distance. No static. Long battery life. Just what the doctor ordered!
This is an amazing monitor! I love it! Our model actually came with the under the mattress sensor but we did not use that much at all, but we loved the audio part of our set!! It has taken so much abuse, being dropped so many times and it still works great! I love that it tells you the temp in the babies room and so many other useful and wonderful features. Our son is 14 months now and we have used it since he was newborn. We still use it and will be using it in 8 months for our next baby! YEAH! Here is a link to a video review I did on it : )

    Great monitor

I got a cheap-o monitor for my first daughter from Target and it wasn't that great. The sound was fuzzy, the range was bad, etc. I bought this one for my brand new twins and love it. The battery life is amazing, my husband took it outside and made it all the way to the end of the block before turning around (and it still worked), I like the volume settings and microphone sensitivity, and the temperature control feature is wonderful. Definitely a good buy.

    Fantastic Baby Monitor

this is my first review of anything. having previously been using the sony analog monitor, and getting increasingly frustrated at it's constant crackles and unexplained bursts of static, we had to try another monitor. for not a lot more money we went with this, being digital we were hoping it wouldn't turn itself on and crackle every 5 mins, and we'd be able to get a good nights sleep. it's perfect. in the baby's room we have a fan running, and also at night when we're downstairs in the kitchen under his room making lots of noise, we run a white noise cd. this monitor easily ignores all of that, but will switch on when he starts tapping his pacifer on the side of his crib, or gurggles to himself, and of course when he wakes up crying in the night do yourself a favour, ditch the analog, and go digital!

    Great item

I ordered this for our grandson's visit so his parents wouldn't have to bring/set-up the video monitor they have at home. It was easy to set up, clarity of sound was good and made their visit much smoother. Very pleased with purchase.

I bought this monitor 3 weeks ago and am very disappointed with it. For my first daughter we had the angelcare with the sensor pad but since we didn't use that much I decided to buy just the monitor for my 2nd and I am not at all happy. It has 8 channels but I can't get the temperature to show on it. Every now and then, it shows the temp but then it disappears and jut shows the channel number only. It doesn't have the option of continuous sound either so only clicks in when the baby cries loudly and most if the time it is accompanied by static . It has an out of range indicator that beeps when I go to the next room and we live in a small townhouse so I just turned off that option. For $60 this is a terrible product from angelcare and I would not recommend this to anyone.

    Terrible sound quality

This came in the mail and we set it up. the sound quality on it is terrible. it sounds like you are listening to your baby from down a long hallway. we were literally in the next room 10 feet away and could hear more clearly through the wall than we could with the monitor. We previously used the older graco model and I would say this one does not even come close to compare. The other one I could hear my baby breath, this one you can't distinquish if her squeeks are happy ones, angry ones or distressed ones b/c the sound quality is that poor. Would not recommend. We are returning. and getting a new graco (batteries on our olds ones after 4 years only stay charged for about 45 mins.).

    Not the best

The thermometer is not accurate, off by 2-3 degrees Celsius, I know this because I used to different thermometers to compare and the baby monitor was inconsistent with the two I used which were the same. Also, I do not like that the light is bright on it especially when you have it beside you at night. It should dim completely and light up only with new noise or when you touch the buttons (like my Vtech one which is honestly the best!). I wish it had a vibrating option so instead of hearing baby cry you can switch it to vibrate when crying escalates, this is nice for the nighttime when you are sleeping next to your partner and don't want to wake them up. Lastly, I have read that blue light is the worst kind of light for sleeping at night and the best kind of light for night use is red, dark pink or orange. The night light option is way too stimulating to be a night light. I also find that you have to have it on high volume sometimes to hear baby babbling or talking. It picks up a lot of other noises (fan) and sometimes cannot hear baby (and it is on HIGH sensitivity, so not sure why it does this). Honestly, we have had a VTECH for almost 2.5 years for my son and we wanted to try something new for my daughter and I am really dissatisfied with the AngelCare and will be returning it and getting the VTECH.

    Nice monitor, had some issues

I loved the idea of this monitor as a first time mom, but nothing I could do could prevent it from making false alarms. Those alarms scare the daylight out of you and so after a few troubleshooting efforts we finally just disconnected the sensor and used it like a cheapie monitor. I do like the temperature readings on it. After about 2 years the display went out, and although their customer service doesn\'t pick up the phone, after leaving a voice mail and email, they promptly sent out new monitors as there was a recall on the screens. Overall, a very expensive cheapie sound monitor.
