Great Audio and Movement Monitor!

Although I am not a first-time parent, I still worry like one! That's why I was so relieved (and grateful!) to receive this monitor to try out from the weeSpring Parent Panel. I am one of those moms that needs to hop out of bed every so often to check that the baby is still breathing, and having such an accurate and sensitive movement monitor definitely cut down on my anxiety. I really like and appreciate that this includes an audio monitor as well, because I like to be able to hear what the baby is up to (I'd rather not just wonder whether or not the motion sensor is going to go off). I have never worried about the security of this monitor. My two favorite features of this monitor are 1) it is really sleek and modern-looking and 2) it isn't too sensitive (it is very accurate).

Great Movement Monitor

I was so excited to try this movement monitor out on our little 2 month old baby girl as we did not have one for our first. Well this monitor sure will let you know if your baby is not moving as I learned the hard way picking up baby girl after every nap and forgetting to turn it off our poor dog came running every time, but I quickly learned to just turn it off as I was walking in the nursery. The temperature of the room is a nice added feature however I really wish this monitor had a visual feature so that I could check in on her especially as she gets older. Thanks so much weeSpring Parent Panel for gifting us this great product.

Angelcare monitor

The angelcare monitor worked great. It was a little sensitive but receiving the board helped stabilize that. I would recommend this product to a friend. I received this monitor for free as parent of the parent panel test group.

Nice Features

Thank you to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this Movement and Audio Monitor. The monitor is white and has a clean, sleek design that looks nice. The alarm is loud, which is important, so you can rest easy knowing it would wake you up if it is triggered! The preset sensitivity level worked great for me, but this can easily be adjusted if needed. I worried about the hardness of the sensor pad under the mattress, but my baby didn't seem to notice at all. I like the features of this monitor (movement, audio, and temperature monitoring), though it was a bit confusing to set up. I tried to follow the instructions, but I set off the alarm and didn't know how to turn it off! I still like the product, but it takes some practice to use. You have to remember to snooze or turn off the monitor when picking up the baby (or you'll trigger the alarm!), but that is such a minor thing to do when compared with the peace of mind you gain from using the monitor and knowing your baby is okay. Overall, the monitor allows me to rest easier and not worriedly check on baby quite as often. I'm glad to have this monitor and would recommend it.

Great product but takes some adjusting time

I received this product as part of the Wee Springs Parent Panel. I was super excited about having the Angelcare breathing monitor for my twins and especially the version with the audio monitor. As a parent, you are always concerned about your little ones during the nighttime and with two babies to worry about, it was a constant routine of checking on them. We received the monitors when the twins were about 3 months old and used them until just recently. I feel confident in my baby's sleeping habits now at almost 7 months. The motion sensor was very sensitive and we had some issues with getting the settings at a good sensitivity. We had several false alarms at the beginning when I was even in the room and the babies were awake. It does take some time to get used to the pause button and unfortunately, one of my twins had some respiratory issues (which made me thankful to have the monitor!), so we were constantly in the room to settle her down from coughing spells....it was then easy to forget to set the pause button and you cannot lower the volume level of the alarm which would startle both twins plus my toddler in the other room. However, I feel that this is a great product for new parents and does give a peace of mind that there is a monitor for their breathing. I would recommend it to a friend but would like to see some additional settings added on to the monitoring system to help with some of these problem areas we were facing. We did add the wood paneling below the monitor to help give a firm foundation for the system even though our crib's mattress frame is fairly solid. I do believe adding the wood panel helped keep the frequency of false alarms at bay.

Not sold

I was given this Audio/Movement Monitor to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I think it has great potential, but is not something I would purchase. Pros: If you are overly worried about your little one while s/he sleeps to a point that you're not sleeping, this is definitely for you. It can detect the most minute movements, even breathing, through the crib mattress. Pretty amazing. Mine was overly sensitive and alarmed a few times unnecessarily, but with a few easy adjustments we were back in business. The audio part is helpful too as it doubles as a baby monitor. The temperature display is handy as well for making sure you have a perfect sleep environment (so important!). Cons: As I mentioned before, it alarmed unnecessarily, making this product difficult for me to fully trust even after making adjustments to the settings. It would be great if this system had a video feature as well so it can be all you need in one piece of equipment. That way if it does alarm, you can lay eyes on your baby without having to go into the nursery. Also, it requires a board for stabilization if your crib mattress sits on springs or anything other than a solid flat surface. The board does not come with the system and is sold separately. Overall, I am satisfied with just being able to see my twins on a video monitor. I can see their bellies rise and fall as they breathe, and that is enough for me.

Takes Getting Used To

Upon receiving this product through the weeSpring Parent Panel, I immediately went about setting it up in my daughter's room only to find I didn't have all the supplies needed, namely a wooden board. This is used to stabilize the product in certain cribs or bassinets so it can more effectively monitor movements. I was frustrated by this and since my daughter was already born and occupying all of my timed, the product went unused for some time. Once the movement pad was set up, I had to go through a lot of trial and error by adjusting the sensitivity level. Apparently my daughter is a deep sleeper because the alarm was constantly going off. Eventually we found a setting that worked but it took some effort. My biggest critique of the product is the need to reset the monitor after each time you remove your baby from the crib. My daughter wakes frequently at night and when you're already exhausted and it's the middle of the night, it's very easy to forget this step. The movement monitor soon became more trouble than it was worth and we stopped using it. The regular sound monitor is fantastic. It's provides very high quality sound and I felt secure using it. It also provides lots of listening options so you can customize it to your needs. It's very portable and offers a lot of flexibility. It took a little getting used to since there are so many options. My only suggestion is to add a dimmer since the screen is very bright and can be disruptive when trying to sleep. My biggest recommendation if considering this product is to purchase it and become comfortable with it well before baby's arrival. I found it takes a great deal of effort to make it worth the while. For our family, following the APA recommendations for sleep is enough to provide peace of mind.

Complicated

Maybe it's just me, but I thought this was really complicated. In my opinion, having the parent unit be a little bigger to accommodate a larger screen would be a big help to make a more intuitive menu. I do really value the movement sensor, but not having video means I need another monitor, too. So, I carry around two monitors, which is just redundant. The movement sensor does give you a piece of mind when they're itty bitty babies sleeping in their crib, but it didn't take too long for me to feel secure with the video monitor that allows me to see their breath. I received this Audio/Movement Monitor from the weeSpring Parent Panel, so I'm glad I didn't pay out of pocket for it. Others might find this more useful and easier to use than I did, since I will admit technology isn't my strong suit.

Angel Care Movement Monitor

I received the Angel Care movement monitor in exchange for my review from the Weesprinv Parent panel. In my opinion this monitor, while nice to have, is not necessary. That being said, my children slept with me in my room until 6 months old and then we transitioned them to their crib so I didn't have as much of a worry. I can see this being ideal if you transition your little one to a crib sooner or even if you have some other concerns. What I can see this being helpful for is my toddler and keeping her in her big girl bed! I would not say this product is bad or the it is not useful...it is fantastic it was just not necessary for my family at the time. Because I have a baby monitor already I found it to be redundant.

Monitor Scare

Alright everybody I've been wanting to try the Angel Care Monitor for a while now and thanks to WeeSpring Parent Panel I was finally able to do so. I would give this monitor 3 stars, at most, and would maybe change the name to Angel Scare Monitor. Unlike its predecessor the Angel Care Sensor ( which I love and highly recommend) this baby monitor and sensor combined, kept me up all night long. The Monitor is extremely sensitive. There were a couple of times when the Monitor lost a signal which triggered the alarm, and if the Monitor and bed panel were not lined up exactly right, it would trigger the alarm. I set the Monitor on the dresser which is parallel to the crib and still had issues with losing signal. It may have been user error, but my husband and I were in shear panic at least 6 times during the night thinking our child had quit breathing. We have since replaced with a regular video monitor and have used the Angel Care crib sensor separately and have enjoyed both! Unfortunately this product was not for me, but I am very thankful to WeeSpring panel for allowing me to try it!
