Thick, crystal-clear glass with a large knob lid gives it a charming, nostalgic look—perfect for display on your countertop. The glass-on-glass lid does not form a tight seal—fine for dry goods or display, but not ideal for keeping cookies or perishables fresh. A SIDE NOTE... i had to look for a lid since i broke mine, its CHEAPER to but the set than to buy a lid on AMAZON.

Beautiful heavy weight glass jar. Things to note: This jar is big. This is made to sit out. It's not going to fit in a cabinet. There is no rubber stopper between the lid and jar so you have to put the lid on gently because it's just glass on glass.

Very nice giant jar

What to say, it's a great big giant beautiful clear glass container with a pretty glass lid. The lid is loose fitting, not air tight and the 2 gallon capacity would hold dozens of cookies or any dry goods. Would make an excellent aquarium for a single fish. I bought two so maybe I'll do both.
