Fabric Care Instructions: Hand Wash Recommended
I spent quite a bit of time searching for a glass pitcher and when I found this one online I snapped it up. I enjoy lemonade in the summer and find using a plastic jug leaves a funny taste. This pitcher is the perfect size for frozen drinks that you add water to, it is thick glass that won't easily break, and it is shaped so that it can fit into the door of your refrigerator. I am really happy with it and will, probably get another one.
It is so hard to find real glass in an efficient shape. This pitcher has both. I like the way it nestles up against a standard 1-gallon milk jug in the frig. It does have two disadvantages: 1) the glass is not Pyrex, so you can't pour boiling water into it and 2) the lid is not leak proof, so you cant shake it if you use it for storing juice which needs to be shaken before pouring. I just bought one of these to replace one I have had for about 10 years and finally cracked. I love it.
Read other reviews and I do not have the issues they have. The lid fits, great size and easy to clean. You do have to remove lid to pour. It's under $5 so what do you expect! Glass portion is heavy duty enough for tea or lemonade even when full. I have small hands and I have no issues picking it up. I went out and bought another one, it is less expensive to buy online and store pickup. Did try to download a photo but would not let me, sorry. Oh and automatically gave me a nickname of disappointed and I am not.
I had previously purchased one of these for juice and really liked it. I found that it is not too heavy for say my 8 yr old grandson to handle or me with arthritic hands even when full. My only issue is to make sure it pours without a spill you must put the pour spout on the drinking glass when you fill it. I have 1 each now for juice, lemonade, herbal tea, kombucha and iced coffee. All fit nicely inside my refrigerator side by side for easy access.
the stopper doesn't stop the liquid from coming out, nor does it seem to help it pour out ... regardless no big deal, but I do find myself wiping it off after using because the contents do tend to drip down the spout. very sturdy. I accidentally gripped it wrong and dropped it on the counter. it did not break or crack! I have seen some other people commenting that adding hot liquids have caused it to crack or break, it does say right on the carafe, not for hot liquids. I love mine. I ordered a second one!
I bought 2 of these pitchers. The shape is great, they store side-by-side perfectly in my frig. HOWEVER, the glass is very thin and fells so fragile, combined with being very heavy when full, I recommend extreme caution when using! Do not buy these if you have kids or a lot of frig traffic.
I have had this pitcher for several months. The one thing that annoyed me when I first used it was that the stopper didn't make the pitcher pourable while in. Minor inconvenience. A HUGE issue I have with it is that a corner of the glass broke today while I was stirring my powdered lemonade and water together with a wooden spoon. Besides water going everywhere, my 1 year old was sitting on the floor next to me and in the direct path of the glass/lemonade. Traumatic for him, I'm sure. Thankfully, so far, I haven't found any glass on him. The pitcher was room temperature when I put the water in it so I'm perplexed as to why it happened... VERY upsetting.
