Welcome to the next evolution in skateboarding! The Fantom 1.0 by Altered Skateboards lets you carve the streets wirelessly. Easier to ride than a standard skateboard, both of your feet stay firmly planted on the deck as you squeeze the trigger-style grip to gradually accelerate. The patented handheld wireless system allows for true continuous acceleration and gradual, controlled braking. Easy for kids or adults to handle, the patented torsion trucks eliminate wheel-bite and allow precise turns with less effort. A quiet and smooth belt drive system combined with a 100-watt electric motor powers the skateboard up to 10 miles per hour and can handle up to 40 minutes of continuous ride time. Since 1997, Altered has been dedicated to bringing the fun and excitement of high-performance electric skateboarding to as many people as possible.

    Electric Skateboard

I have seen a few of these skate boards around town and it really looked like it would be a lot of fun. Also it can get you to your destination a lot faster. So I was interested to see it in the items that we could select. I have attached a top picture of the skate board and hopefully you can see that it has a good gripping to stand on to help avoid slippage. I also attached a side picture so that you could see the under carriage. I gave the skate board to my older grandson and he absolutely loves it! I do like the fact that both feet are on the skate board. That way their foot / leg do not get caught while the kids are pushing off. And it eliminates that type of injury / fall. However the skate board does require that you have good balance, which I believe is a good thing for children to master. Unfortunately I do not. I would recommend this skate board to other people that are looking for that unique and awesome present for kids and teenagers alike.

    Lots of fun!

I simply can’t say enough about how much fun can be had with the Altered Fantom 1.0 Electric Skateboard. I got this mostly for my grandson, but hey, grandpa had to give it a try, and wow what a blast, I felt like a kid again! It does take a bit of practice to get the feel for balancing on it, and the charge time on the battery takes around ten hours, but it’s all well worth it for the overall fun. The wireless speed control is great, but a word of caution, it goes a lot faster than you might expect. Turning is a little harder than I recall from my days on a regular skateboard, but then that was many years ago. It does quite well on sidewalks and handles the occasional bumps very well. This skateboard is more of a novelty, so it’s not something you want if you want to imitate the professionals like Tony Hawk, nor would I recommend it for use at a skate park. It really isn’t designed for trick skating. Still just for fun or as an alternate form as transportation for your kids, you just can’t go wrong. As I said it can go surprisingly fast, so I would highly advise a helmet as well as knee and elbow pads.

Wow, I'm impressed, You gotta get this!

I received the Altered Fantom 1.0 Electric Skateboard with Wireless controller to give my honest opinion. When I first saw the Altered Fantom 1.0 Electric Skateboard, I was quite impressed. Because I never even knew there was such a thing. I mean I knew about electric scooter, but not an electric skateboard. After having the Altered Fantom 1.0 Electric Skateboard for a few days, I am really grateful to have it. By watching the video of the Altered Fantom 1.0 Electric Skateboard, where these two kids were riding on it. They made it looked easy to ride, but it’s actually not that easy. If you aren’t that familiar with riding a regular skateboard than it may take a while to learn to maneuver the Altered Fantom 1.0 Electric Skateboard. I would suggest to definitely wear a helmet, knee pad and elbow pad before allowing any child on the Altered Fantom 1.0 Electric Skateboard and make sure it is a safe environment. The reason why I say this is because this is electric and it goes up to 10 miles per hour that is really fast. I will definitely use the Altered Fantom 1.0 Electric Skateboard to go to my local stores, and to just cruse around. I would definitely recommend the Altered Fantom 1.0 Electric Skateboard to anyone that wants to get around easily and faster and at the same time do it in style.

    Awesome Ride!

The Altered Fantom 1 Electric Skateboard is a lot of fun to ride. It is rated for ages 8 and up, but it also has a 120 lb (54 kg) max rider weight rating. I weigh around 175lbs, and am dying to try it myself – we’ll see how long I can resist the temptation – it looks like so much fun! From most angles, the skateboard looks pretty typical – the deck, wheels, and trucks all look relatively standard. It is only underneath the deck where you notice the difference (see picture). It has a large black rectangular battery pack designed to allow for up to 40 minutes of use between recharges. It also has a relatively small, quiet electric motor attached to the rear wheels. It is quite impressive how fast (up to 10 mph) and how long it will go on a single charge. If you are worried about it going too fast, there is a mode that will limit the maximum speed allowed. You control the board through a wireless (using digital 2G technology) handheld controller that has a continuous position trigger (see other picture). Push the trigger forward (away from you) to brake; pull it toward you to accelerate. It can really take off quickly if you are not careful, there is a mode that still allows for maximum speed, put will control acceleration during starting that is the recommended (and default) setting. The skateboard isn’t light (around 20 pounds), so it is wise to avoid driving off in one direction until the battery runs out only to have to carry it back home. I highly recommend this board for anyone who has kids in the 8+ yr (under 120 lbs) range who enjoy this type of activity.
